Ever wonder why? I sure do. Today we're going to wonder why there isn't a better way to compress your files before uploading them. But there is! It just so happens that I got recently annoyed over the fact that files take longer than necessary. In addition, I can't upload lots of large projects I have made deep in the past.
My friend told me about a better file compressor. I didn't think that I'd need to use it, but it turns out compressing files means more to me now. Mainly because most file hosts won't accept files larger than 10 MB… so, yeah.Anyways, the program is called 7zip. I don't know if people around here use it or not, but it's really good. Here's the link:http://www.7-zip.org/Hooray. :)
you get annoyed downloading games on 64d? then why do it?
r u on 56k or what? Besides most games are compressed here.file compressors can only do so little when the file is already compressed (like many games here) and even so what's the big deal? If the game looks good & sound interesting then you download it… if you can't then don't be complaining about it here! It's not THAT big of a deal. And it wasn't just stuff on 64D that I was d/ling.
I love compression.JoshDreamland has created a file minimizer, very clever technique of taking off the initial file and adding it back when another uses the program to regrow
jOSH dREAMALND.
Sounds cool. How good is it (compressing)?
it's a really good compressor… much better than zip. that's all he meant. sheesh mixah, what's wrong with you?
Well yODUDE, it turns out it's not as good as you told me though, because it only compressed 0.01 MB more than a regular zip, which doesn't compress much than a plain file.

Thanks for that. xDI assume you've found my compressor, General Grievous? That's pretty cool that you were just looking for that, IMO.Yes, I found it. And managed to figure out how to use it too! lol. I'm going to edit the blog to advertise GM7Zip instead… :)
