Chapter 1 - The Mist

It was a sunday evening. The sun was low in the sky. A dense mist fell over Holdrum city. The low sun fought to break apart the mist, but failed. Within minutes the entire city was covered in this mysterious mist. on the news they told people to say inside thier houses, lock all windows and doors and be patient. one man, lost in the mist while walking home from work stood in what used to be the park. He stuck his hand out in front of him and it disappeared. Then the man heard a low rumbling from behind him, or at least he thought it was behind him. He spun around frantically trying to pinpoint the sound, just then something began to emerge out of the mist.

Chapter 2 - The Things

a man, trapped in a prison with no walls, stood and watched as a figure approached him. The figure seemed to distort the mist, just slightly, but enough to see a metre or two ahead. The pond, the man instantly recognised his location however the figure was still approaching. The man backed up a few paces and…yes he felt the tree he always stood under when it rained. He shuffled his way around the tree and slumped to the floor, hoping the figure he saw had just as much trouble seeing in the mist as he had…he was wrong. He felt pressure on both of his shoulders, looking at them he saw what appeared to be red claws. he grabbed the claws and try to pull them off, but they latched down tight onto his shoulders. He felt a sharp pain shoot through his body. he shirveled to floor in pain as a thought plagued his mind "I'm going to die!"

Chapter 3 - I Am Hero!

Gripped with pain the man, now lying on the floor asked himself what had he done to deserve this. Just then he felt the pressure lift off his shoulders and the pain that had him helpless on the floor was gone, he swivelled his head and saw the figure of a man wrestling with the red claws. the figure of a man swung his fist at one of the claws and it snapped off with a gush of green blood splattering the tree. There was a terrible scream as the other claw disappeared from sight with the sound of heavy footsteps following it. The figure of the man stretched out his arm and pulled the man on the floor up. The man, still a little dazed from the pain that was once there asked the figure "who are you?". The figure stood there silent for a second…before replying "I Am Hero",
