[Hero] Blocked

Posted by HeroofTime55 on Jan. 5, 2007, 6:06 p.m.

64Digits has been blocked under "Games" by my school computers. Wonderful. Now I can't transfer files to and from school, and it's going to affect my Web Page Design classwork. Stupid tech department probably assumed it was one of those stupid flash game sites. GAH!

So anyway, because a large portion of my time here was free time at school, I won't be able to het on nearly as much anymore.

Also, in case you were wondering where the hell I've been for the past week or so, I was on vacation at Disney World. Not exactly the happiest place on earth durring the crowded holiday season, with the parks literally past maximum capacity. Thankfully, we stayed on Disney property, which had some cool benifits. We could sometimes enter a park early, or stay after regular closing, and we couldn't be denied admission if the park was full (hence the parks filling beyond capacity). But whatever. It was still fun. We mostly did rides during those special hours they had, as lines were literally hours long during the day.

Most of the rides were good, some were bad, and one in particular pissed me off, not only because it sucked so badily, but because there used to be a really good ride in it's place years ago.

So yeah. That's where I've been all this time.

Right now, I've decided to get more active on GMClans with missions and all, and I'm also an assistant programmer for a game with another group. But my work on that site is in C++, not GM. So I'm probably going to have to refresh my knoweldge.

No, each school blocks their own list of sites. You're fine, until the tech dept at your school picks up that you've been going there.

In our public library, every site on the Internet is blocked for some reason or another. It's pathetic.

Cough. Cover your tracks. Cough.

Delete all cookies, history, cache etc.

It's generally a good idea anyway if you ever have to log-in somewhere; you don't want some sneaky kid (or adult) snooping around and knowind what you were doing.

Well depending on the intelligence of your school IT techs then this may not be an easy option, I know in my school getting any where near those options was completely blocked.

Best advice is to use a proxy. Weeeeeee.

Oh, yeah…

Consider home-schooling and you'll be trouble free! =p

Yeah, my school dosen't allow cookie deleting or blocking, they took out those controls.

I need to figure out how to use a proxy :P

Good old Wikipedia…

Anyway, I don't know why schools insist on blocking sites.

I mean I know why they think they need to block them but why?.

Porn, distractions from work by games, illegal stuff, etc.

Yeah, a lot of sites deserve to be blocked. 64Digits does not.

Portable Firefox.

They still picked me up.

Mostly because they track IPs.
