Ok i was inspired to put my full thoughts on evolution and God and everything related into a blog entry. Im hoping there is no character limit to blog entries, 'cause this should be a long one. so long i doubt ill get it all in today.
Ok, so, basically, theres this whole debate over evolution. Theres a bunch of wackos who think that evolution, which is a proven fact of science, somehoew dosent exist. They think this because they see the idea as incompatible with their religious beliefs. I believe they are narrow minded, because if enough thought is put into it, it is obvious that evolution is not only compatible with their beliefs, but that it was part of God's master plan.First, let me describe the laws of nature. No, not each one, but all as a single collection of rules. These rules are the ones that apply to basc atomic physics, and subatomic particles and everything, down to the smallest, likely not yet discovered unit of matter/energy/whatever (i believe energy and matter exist in the same particle…. ill describe it later…) So anyway, theres rules, laws of physics, that apply to everything. Things like the 'four forces' (gravity being the most well known), and other rules that define how everything in the universe operates. As humans we know a few of these rules. Some we dont understand, because we evolved with the need only to understand our world. It was never needed for our survival to accept other laws. And many i am sure we do not yet know. Think of unusual 'supernatural' or sci-fi situations like wormholes and such. How do they work? rules we dont yet know. And to deny the possibility of rules like such, is completly foolish. to deny something just because there is no scientific proof in favor of it, is incredibly narrow-minded. Did atoms not exist before their discovery? And this goes for the athiests out there: There is no scientific proof ruling out God.Now then, with these rules in the universe, everything MUST, and AT ALL TIMES, do as the rules say. There is no breaking rules, it is physically impossible, unless there exists another rule to provide for rule breaking. For example, everything must obey gravity, nothing can decide to let gravity act 'up' on itself rather than 'down'. and nothing can not experience gravity when near other matter. It is my belief that God created such rules for His creation to operate in. Think of God as a programmer, and the universe is his program. He tells it what to do. (but he can always decide to step in and make something go against his rules, but manually. The rules define everything without His interference)He created the rules to make the world operate as He wished. Now then, to evolution: I cant stand people with the notion that "Evolution is against God" and whatever. First off, most of the bible serves to teach lessons rather than accurately record history. Second, these people put no thought into their stance.Evolution dosent disprove God. It was actually part of his master plan. As humans, we are infinitely, for lack of a better word, dumber than God. When we create something, it needs matinence. If we dont carefully watch over it, care for it, repair it, it will break down. God is smarter than that, and he has the resources available to do better. His creation can maintain itself. When left alone, it dosent [physically] need his help. This method of self matinence is evolution. Realize, this is not as individuals, but as a species as a whole. Individual humans can get sick or disabled, we get old, we die. But the species as a whole survives. Now then, not only does evolution not disprove God, but it can prove His existance. Evolution can explain many features of our species. But there are a few that do not fit in. For example, our enjoyment of music. Why would we evolve this, something that is of no benifit to our survival and reproduction? And its not just a little thing, there is a sizeable portion of our brains devoted entirely to music. The only explanation is that some higher being put it there, possibly due to the fact that it wouldnt turn up due to normal evolution. (either that, or i'm too stupid to see how it might be of importance to the survival of the species).Well, thats it for now. Ill expand on my theories in later blogs. Im a thinker, and i got a crapload of stuff to share. But i gotta go for now…. :(
#9: Apes! remember, humans have been evolving since the extinction of the dinosaurs, that probably was like half a galactic revolution before now…. a couple hundred million years…
Interesting, I kinda knew all that though, your not the only thinker, and I do believe in god just not completely.
Okie, heres my thoughts on this blog [:P]
For starters, I'd like to know where you got all this information about God? From your head? If from your head, then what makes you think you know about God's plans? It sure didnt come from the Bible which was not written to be a story book but facts. (a whole different discusion) I know one thing and that is just because you say that was Gods plan doesnt make it. Ok, moving on.And where do you get your notion that Evolution is proven? I curtinly have never seen convinsing proofs of it. Ive seen alot of people saying how the universe started and how every thing came to be and its nice story telling but what evidence is there? I agree that there are laws of nature and that God made them. And you didnt say much about proving evolution in there. If the Bible was only to teach lessens then why is all this genesis stuff in there? If God only had people write this to teach lessons then why would revelation be in there? Have you ever even read the Bible?Well ill be looking forward to more of your theorys [:P]-mesenberg-Ok. First, do not accuse me of putting words into God's mouth. Though i may word it to seem like that at times, this is all just my belief. And let me ask you this: Who are you to tell me I'm wrong? Mabye Youre the one putting words into God's mouth :P
Now, evolution is proven. If you cannot find the proof, then you are just ignorant. No offence, but the proof is all over the place. Try google for starters. You cant ignore the information thats everywhere. The laws of nature, well it wasnt exactly evolution fully. I realized recently however, that Free will must be an exception to the Laws of the universe, otherwise we are doomed to live in an exact pattern according to the rules. If you believe that it is possible to make both decisions in a choice, that there is no set pattern to everything we do, then you believe in free will, and you realize that a higher power MUST have allowed for it, as a rule to allow free will is far too complex to arise naturally. And anyway, my topic wasnt only evolution, there was more, i guess. Perhaps i put too big a focus on evolution that the rules part seemed out of place. And finally, it is my belief that the bible is much more God's way of teaching us rather than recording history. Genisis? well, isnt the story about origional sin and such a lesson? Well, its too far back to say what REALLy happened, but dont assume you know exactly what happened. there are many ways to interpret the bible. Personally I dont think it should be taken too literally, and that people must be careful not to assume that anything was like it is today (dont picture Adam and Eve like modern humans! And as for the earth being created in '7 days', the bible makes no definition of how long a 'day' is. And since the Earth didnt exist yet, you cant assume an earth day. I believe that a 'day' represents a period of many many years)O and another thing: Just to clarify it, Evolution is a theory. it is NOT a 'hypothesis' like some want to believe. Theory does not mean some random idea that some guy had and that theres no proof. A theory in science is something that has been TESTED and ACCEPTED as FACT. The only more definite statements are called LAWS.
