I was thinking, This site could be really cool if we could upload .htm files. That would enable us to have other webpages through this site, which would be kinda cool.
Pros: -It would be really super ultra cool, and we could all have our own sites through 64DigitsCons: -It might allow for abuse of the main site-Sites might not fit in with game development-64Digits would ammount to a free web host, which is kinda dumb-With that comes the potential for large ammounts of bandwidth, and that costs money, and the potential to waste server spaceThoughts on this? Is there some way to mabye eliminate some or all of the cons (For example, Mod approval, or mabye only older members can upload .htm files)? Or should this die? This is just a random idea I had, and I really dont have much of an opinion on this as of yet.On a side note, Is it acceptable to upload games/*.exe's here that were not made with GameMaker?
yeah too much bandwidth would end up being used =/
We have enough trouble with javascript abuse NOW, just wait till we get HTML FILES uploading!
What's next, Having PHP files be able to be uploaded and giving you all CPanel access?Honestly…Oh, and you can upload non-gm stuff if you want, but you can't submit non-gm things to the database. To put it bluntly, <b>no.</b>
Yeah, I was prety much thinking the same. I was hoping that mabye someone would come up with a solution that would solve the problems associated with it.
The real problem would be that we couldn't parse out malicious code - and even if we could, I'm not sure our host would like us being a website host like they are.
I would like to point out I have been saying this for a long time, but the admins ignored me.
Heh, I remember thinking about this a LONG time ago.
But yeah, the answer is no.And to any wondering, deepermeaning is Jake. Haha.although I know at least one member has an index.html file uploaded =/
Heh. I used to have a .php index with a meat badger and hit counter.
