ALPHA PRERELEASE IS OUT

The Alpha prerelease for TWE is out. If you want to play it before it is released publicly, just comment. or find the seekret link for it hidden in this blog. <— You weren't 'sposed to know that. D:

There's still much more room for improvement(especially for the lobbies and stuffs) for the public version of the alpha, and I'm hoping that I can release it soon.

Some of the changes:

-Replaced the map "Confinement" with a new map, "Last Stand", because Qwilder hates Confinement.

-Rebalanced maps, weapon damage, AI.

-Perfect Spawns

-Smarter AI

-Armor Upgrades(There are only two for now, Halo style overshields and Forcefields)

-New weapon effects

-Better Graphics

-Redesigned maps

-Bug/Glitch fixes

-Thousands of more improvements

Tell me if you get any errors or bugs, which you will most likely get.

Also, please note that this prerelease version will have some unfinished things in terms of the menues, and all that junk. The public alpha will most likely be a zillion times better.

Controls:

Letter A: move left

Letter D: move right

Letter W: move up

Letter S: move down

Letter F: Activate killstreaks

left mouse button: shoot

Middle mouse or Letter R: Reload

Hold Space: Sprint

Tap space: Melee

Hold E: Use turrets

Press E: Pickup weapons

Shift: Deploy Shield(Only when Force Field armor upgrade is in use.)

Esc: Pause

E: Pick up weapon

Mouse Wheel or numbers 1-2: Change Weapons

Hold Q: View Scoreboard

PRESS LMB ON ENEMIES' HEAD FOR HEADSHOTS.(For long ranged weapons only)

F9 to take screenshots

BATTLEGROUNDS KILLSTREAKS:

3 Kills - UAV

7 Kills - Airstrike

25 Kills - Hovering Super ship

Also, trolling real players with flamethrowers and grenades won't be as easy. >:O

yayaya, I just procrastinated some work to play it for an hour :p

And yeah, it helped the AI are kinda predictable about going through doors…

although I thought it was pretty good when 2 aliens teamed up on me…one came in through the door on my left, other one went through the door on the right D:

also I've lost every battlegrounds game I've played so far lol

Yeah, TWE might not seem like much when you first play it, but once you get the hang of it, it can become kind of addicting.

lol, I dunno why so many people find this game so difficult. I even buffed up the assualt rifles, added the Halo-style overshield and balanced the AI damage.

I hope you know that you can sprint by holding space and you can melee by tapping it. I dunno why, but many people don't know that when they first play.

and about the AI being predictible, I'm always working on the AI. I even made them run away when their health is low, and I made them run to their closest teammate if there are only two of them left and one is too far away from another one.

Also, I love when the AI does smart things by doing things like flanking sometimes. :>

people are finding it difficult? but…how? O_o

I know I keep having the problem of running out of ammo (especially for the assault rifle, which is absolutely amazing to use now lol), but even then I have a k/d of over 8….

Plus I noticed the turning speed messes my aim up a bit sometimes, but that seems like a good thing because it forces the player to avoid fighting too many enemies at once - tactical thinking wins out over Rambo emulation :P

and I was actually trying to figure out what the sprint button was in game, I knew there was a way to do it but kept trying to use shift XD

(since that's the button usually used for adjusting character speed in FPS's and the like)

The AI improvements are coming along nicely ..and come to think of it I did see that fleeing-if-health-is-low action at least a couple times - one alien sprinted past me without even trying to attack, and I wasn't able to shoot it because it ran through a door and the door closed behind it lol

oh, I thought that you were finding it difficult. Also, about the Assualt Rifles, try not to reload too much in the game. When you reload, and you still have a lot of ammo in your clip, you are losing valuable amounts of ammo.

I put it like that because, I find it realistic, instead of the usual "reload and lose no ammo" trick that games use today. But I dunno, I've had people complain about running out of ammo quickly before, I might try and fix that if it ever becomes a serious problem.

Yeah, I want TWE to involve tactics and some skill, I don't want it to turn out like a rambo-fest. Also, when you are shot, sometimes you will cringe from the bullet impact, messing up your accuracy. And the chances that you might cringe depends on which weapon you are shot with.

(for example, you will cringe more when being shot by close range weapons than longer range weapons that aren't pickup weapons.)

lol…yeah, it made me sad when I reloaded the AK and lost 32 bullets :(

Could you do something where you make it so you can reload partially-full clips though? That would be useful.

I noticed the cringe-thing, that was good too - plus the screen flashing all the way to red, and the hit marker that covers the side of the screen, plus the dirt that sprays on the screen when near airstrikes and such helped with making it disorienting (in a good way - it feels really weird saying that lol).

oh, and also, the AK can get headshots, when you are about to kill them, and you are aiming at their head, their head will 'splode.(I'm pretty sure that you've already noticed this. :p)

That's also something new. I used to have it so headshots with the AK were random and really rare.

and yeah, that does sound weird when you say that. it sounds like it shouldn't be a good thing. luls :p

I have an odd urge to shoot windows that haven't been already shot at on TWE. I just noticed that lol.

Also, thinking about adding Confinement back to the list of maps when the public alpha is out. I love that map. It feels the most unique out of all of them, to me.

I did not notice that the AK could do headshots actually, probably because I almost never put the cursor over enemies when shooting at them.. I knew the sniper could do headshots, but I hate using it because the turn speed is so slow XD

Maybe you should have a change log for this, there's so many new things to keep track of lol

Y u take out Confinement? :(

and whenever I hear a bullet break a window in game, I feel a little happier inside…this scares me D:
