Doodle Blog #9452

Posted by JID on Dec. 12, 2012, 12:22 a.m.

I kind of wanted to do a doodle blog of my own, since there are already two up and i've had these sitting in my dropbox account for a little while now.

also, these are all concepts for characters for the next game i'm working on, which is a remake of an old topdown shooter i'd never finished.

These next two are unfinished, but seeing as I won't have a real pc of my own for a while, might as well share them:

^Dunno why this one's line work looks so blurry now that i've posted it.

and an extra 5 minute doodle of a random zombie, too lazy to finish it

Nothing really impressive, but, yeah. This game will be open world, using some of the coding from Fort Exile. That game was a nice little experiment for me.

I might add on to this blog or finish some of these drawings sometime in the future.

I really wish I could show some screenshots/videos for the next game i'm working on, but I'd have to install GM on this computer, and this pc is like 7 years old.

Soo, other than that, I was playing a lot of Telltale's The Walking Dead game and I beat it. Great game.

Still want to get Dishonored and Far Cry 3. Every other AAA game has disappointed me this year, in some way, other than Max Payne and Halo 4, surprisingly. Borderlands 2 was also pretty good.

tl;dr Broken PC, transitioning between diff ones for months now. Drawn some stuff, programming some stuff, played some some stuff like The Walking Dead game, Borderlands, etc. yeah, a lot of stuff

I was interested because of the controller boobs. I don't even know if that is part of your game.

yeah, it is. i want to attract a much broader audience by innovating with new controller boob technology.

you will see much more controller boob from here on out.

On a more serious note, If anyone still uses this, I made a deviantart account a few months ago, but i just finally uploaded some of these drawings just now. If anyone wants to add me, or whatever, here's a link:

Also, is there a way to add a background color to the blog title's background? I'm fiddling around with my CSS for a bit, and i'm pretty rusty. I dunno why I always lean toward the color green - but this time i actually have an excuse, trying to use christmas colors. :p

JID is actually working on a boob physics engine that allows user input via a SNES controller.

I know this because of all the spyware I jam-packed into Cinders.*

*But not really.

ah The Walking Dead… awesome game. I was extremely disappointed to find out none of my choices are real though. no matter what choices you make, you get the same outcome which really sucks :(

nice doodles by the way

@mike thanks. i might not ever finish it though, tbh

@death

I loved the ending, though. one of the very few games that can really evoke at least some sadness and have you still thinking about the ending after you've beaten it and put the controller down. Not many games has had me thinking about its ending that much since the original bioshock. (Well, at least in a positive way :p)

It's left me pretty excited for season 2.

But, I totally understand where you're coming from by being disappointed. It seems as though all of your choices really mattered only at the end of episode 4, with who you recruit.

slight spoilers:

But I did kind of get that "oh shit" moment when some of the group were recalling all of the things we'd disagreed on in the past.

I thought it was totally understandable though, to have the game end somewhat the same way with minor differences, i say this because The Walking Dead game was a rather small game, and they don't have enough development time or budget to make extremely big story changes depending on the player's actions.
