Here is a song I wrote in 1xLSDJ, on my Gameboy.

It's about the eternal struggle to gain something that remains just out of one's reach (a dream, love, or whatever that may be), but never giving up no matter what the obstacles.

It's based off of the original Donkey Kong, because Jumpman never gets the girl, and the game just starts over harder every 100m he climbs.

It's just about complete, but some feedback would be nice before I upload the finished version to Soundcloud and my website. Enjoy!

@Stevenup7002 - It's mainly the system limitation. There are four channels to work with: two Pulse, one wave, and one noise. The pulse is used for the main instruments, and some of the kick. The wave is mainly used for bass, kick, and sampled clips. Noise is mainly for percussion.

I tried to fill each channel with as much as possible without making it sound too crowded (using arpeggios for chords, and switching instruments when possible) but it's a little hard to do on one Gameboy. I also tried to vary the song up as much as possible, and in the current version I've run out of phrases to occupy, so there's not much else I can add…

I may do a 2xLSDJ version in the future, but I'd rather see what I can do with one Gameboy for the time being. Either way, thanks for the feedback!

I've been gone for a while… But if anyone's interested, here's a video of me performing this song at 8static, while irresponsibly chugging Kraken despite wearing a shirt stating that I have diabetes… ENJOY.

Yeah, sorry for not making a new blog, but I didn't think the video was important enough for a new post haha. I'll be posting a WIP in a blog shortly though.
