Game Projects: Crystals of Lore Tactica

Posted by Jaakko on March 20, 2007, 9:14 a.m.

I'm working on a big RTS/RPG game. One of my friends is making the sprites (over 200!) and I'm testing my skills in the programming.

This will be my first "big-game" ever and I'm not sure if it's going to be good.

-You will be able to choose a 'main skill': Alchemy, Shapeshift or

Building.

-There will be over 100 different weapons.

-You always fight with your party*

-Over 400 missions.

-You will be able to switch between built-in strategies or use an own.

Battles:

The battles take place on a battlefield (like FFTA). You can control your party members by choosing a strategy. There are offensive, deffensive, supporting etc.

The game will be released in 2008.

If you have any questions or suggestions just tell me.

*You and up to 3 NPCs

-!NEW!-

Online registration and Online Battles!

When I first saw this, I thought you were making a Lord of The Rings game for some reason…

Anyway, welcome to 64Digits and good luck with your project.

One piece of advice: work on the engine first and then worry about the sprites. Better to have a playable game with horrible sprites than an empty game with pretty sprites. [GRIN]

I've been working on several engines like Status_engines, Movement etc.

Thanx for the advice anyway :)

Sounds…mystical. Good luck with it. Hope you do well with the creation, what are the sprites gonna look like?

It'd be good if you could even make 200…

So anyways, can't wait to play it.

Whenever I create good sprites for games, I always terminate the project, and I don't finish. Once I create an awesome menu title for a game, and I got bored of the game. I use dummies as sprites for games I finish now. Later, I switch them off to better sprites when the game's good.

Good advice, you do that?
