Pixel Art, a Minigame, and a Slice of Life

Posted by Jabberwock on Nov. 6, 2006, 10 a.m.

Well, in my last entry I whined about a lack of creative drive. Since then I've created a minigame, drawn a bunch of pixel art and composed a MOD or two, and things are looking up for the future, sort of. In any case, I might as well post some of this stuff for your… er… enjoyment.

Pixel art. Hurrah. Don't ask me what I was thinking when I drew these, I honestly have no idea. I guess this is what happens when I get depressed and then let my mind wander. Then I made a mini-gamish thing, which I won't submit here because it'd probably ruin my 'all games rated 8/10 or higher' badge. In it, you just fight a boss over and over, and it gets progressively more difficult. Here's a link and a screenshot, if anyone is interested.

Other than that I guess I don't really have much to say. I'm home sick right now, and I saw Bill Cosby live on Saturday, which is something I've long wanted to do. And it was worth it, even though I felt like crap the next day. And my school choir (of which I am a part) was for some reason I can't comprehend invited to sing some stuff at a political rally with the vice president on Thursday. It seems amazing to me that people would make such an enormous deal and fawn so much over one person, and a very ordinary one at that. He hasn't written any great books or anything; heck, I don't think he even writes his own speeches. Whatever.

I guess that's all for now. Peace out, dawg.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about the track. It's in .xm format, so you'll need Deliplayer ( www.deliplayer.com ) or Winamp ( www.winamp.com ) if you don't already have a way of listening to these. It might be kind of quiet, too, as I created my own samples for it. I made it using SkaleTracker, by the way.
