Today it's snowing for the first time. That always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and it makes me want to work on my game because this is the time of year that I originally discovered Game Maker. In any case, the snow has been really late in coming this year… since I live in a hick town in the mountains not far from the Canadonian border it usually snows around, like, September. Oh well.
In any case, though it's only been, what, two days since the last update, my project (which I neglected to say is called Mekanos after one of the worlds in Donkey Kong Country 3), I've done a lot of work, mainly on the statistical system and heads-up display. It's taking on even more of an RPG aspect than I had intended; you can now upgrade your attack, defense, magic and speed. I've also given the character a couple of new abilities- now, in addition to turning into a fireball, it can turn invisible and heal itself. So… I don't know if any of this is at all interesting. I guess that means I should put in a picture.I drew that yesterday in one of my frequent fits of boredom. EDIT: Ack. against the bright background you can barely even see what it is. Oh well.Oh, and if you're interested in playing a very much outdated demo of Mekanos to get an idea of what it'll be like, here is some linkage.Anyways, I guess that's all. I need to finish the homework I've been putting off for the past five days.
Man… it desperately needs to snow down here. How much of the white stuff is sticking?
i live about 400 kilometers into Canada and it hasnt snowed yet
Hmm… I could sure use that kind of weather right now, Aus is in the middle of its biggest drought in history. (man I wish I was in Victoria)
Interesting new avatar by the way.Oh, thanks.
A few inches stuck, unfortunately not enough to get me out of school.mekanos is great, i played a bit of it when i saw the link over at gmg. looking forward to seeing more of it
Where do you live? I live in Finland and it's still not snowing here. We had some snow one month ago but it only lasted for a day.
