I woke up thinking today would be a terrible day, but actually it was half-way decent. I'm in choir at my school (I'm not a loser, I swear) and we got out of class to go to a mall to sing (it's a relatively small school, so they can do things like that). Then afterwards the bus was like an hour late so we looked around at stuff and one of my friends played a video game for the first time in her life. Yeah, weird.
A couple days ago I finished Shadow of the Colossus. I'm pretty sure that's the best video game I've ever played. The next time someone says that video games can't be literature/art (man, I wish that happened more often) that would be my counterexample. On an unrelated note, Mekanos got approximately zero replies on GMC (except for one complaining about a broken image). I mean, what the heck? I wouldn't mind this so much, but I get less replies on GMC than people with ripped-graphics type games. And it's not like I never post there or anything. I don't understand it. Whatever. If you feel like bumping my topic out of pity, here is linkage.
The reason that ripped-graphics games get more attention is because a ton of people post whining about the ripped graphics.
I know. That doesn't make me feel any better, though.
That happened to me too, at the same time I released BoulderRunner another game was released and the whole topic was filled with replies complaining about how crappy it was.
That ended up being about 2 pages long and mine only got a few good replies. That's another reason I hate the GMC."embrace the apathy" ^_^
will doI saw your topic… Anyway, I agree. Clones stay on top while original games get bumped down. :(
I have seen the uber-awesome graphics of Shadow of Colossus. I would buy a PS2 just for it.
