Fog

For the past few days it's been very foggy where I live. My grandparents live on a mountain above the city, and when I was coming down after a visit, I saw a huge bank of fog hugging the streets and buildings, white and solid like a drift of snow, with the streetlights glowing faintly through it in the dusk. It was nice. I like fog.

I have had a very busy week at school. It was pretty cruel of my teachers to hit me this hard at the very beginning of the semester, but it's over, for now, so I'm not going to complain (much).

I am currently reading The Fountainhead. It's excellently written, and I think it makes a good point; however, I disagree with some aspects of Ayn Rand's philosophy. What she proposes is nice as an ideal, but the truth is, for a normal human being, it is impossible to be creative without any restraint or outside influence. "There is nothing new under the sun". Still, she's a great writer.

I am still trying hard to start a new project, and I guess I'm making some progress, but I'm still having trouble with character animations and the game engine. I kind of wanted to make an engine similar to the old DOS Prince of Persia game, with lots of climbing and grabbing on to ledges, but it's very difficult for someone of my limited coding skill.

I love fog. Gives a nice mysterious atmosphere.
