Projectivity V and Game Acceptance

Projectivity

I promised I would. Let every man observe, and let them proclaim to the heavens that I have kept my word.

Yeah. Mekanos is coming along really great. I'm adding new rooms almost every day, and I'm adding tons of stuff on weekends. Also, Spring Break is coming up, so I should have some time to work on it then (although I never get much done on Spring Break for some reason).

However, don't think that, just because I'm making progress, this will be done anytime soon. I'm not going to set a release date, but if I did, it'd probably be late summer or something. Did I say late summer? I meant October.

On a related note, is anyone actually following the progress of this game anymore?

Acceptance

In relation to game acceptance: large filesizes (like upwards of 5 MB) are a major turnoff for me. If you want your game to be accepted more quickly, try and make it small.

Also, I automatically reject games with an invalid or nonexistant preview picture. No one will download them, and it only takes like thirty seconds to make a preview, so I'm really doing you a favor.

Adios, amigos.

The screenshot looks so cool! I definitely have to play this when it's done! [:)]

Still looks as cool as it did the first time I played. :D

Looks dark…shooting for that kind of look?

Really love how the game's visual style is coming along. What kind of dungeon-puzzles can we expect to see?

A lot of button-pressing, so far. I'm kind of having trouble coming up with puzzles.

serprex- yes, the entire game is meant to be very dark. Playing it with the lights off (and on a non-flatscreen monitor) helps.

How about a switch-gate puzzle? Or (those pipes have me intrigued) a pipe puzzle?

Well, I'd appreciate it if you'd give me more detailed ideas for puzzles. I've already got some switch-gate things, but most of them don't really qualify as puzzles, exactly.

A bit of trivia- the pipes were actually a tileset that I drew for a completely different game, but I never ended up making it, so I used them for this instead.

Switch gate: press (shoot) a switch to open a door, but close others. This takes a lot of careful planning though.

Pipe puzzle: getting sucked into a pipe, having to make immediate turns at intercessions, and perhaps hitting switches on the way.

Except in the case of Astatine. ;)
