Hey there, 64Digits. Nice to see you back from the dead.

Anyway, I write this with tidings of a BRAND NEW ALBUM of lo-fi chiptunes. It has been remarkably well-liked by all who have heard it so far, so you should hear it too. Ahem:

0010 SCIENTIFIC SATELLITE DEPLOYMENT………………………………………………………2.01

Get it HERE.

Stream it HERE (also add me if you can).

A low-bit low-fi excursion with ecclesiastical overtones. A product of three years.

Thank you for listening.

The public has spoken:

"dangit, these jams are hot!

thanks for sharing, and wonderful work - they truly achieve the cosmic vibe you seem to have intended." - Cosmind

"Heh this is great. I especially like the Dissesembly, but I'm not too sure why! Thanks for sharing" - Deadheat

"holy shit guy this is incredible :D" - JMickle

"so glorious" - andyw

So why not give it a shot, is what I'm saying?

Thank you all for the kind words. I missed this site.

@Cesque and marbs - that song was in Mekanos; glad people remember somehow. ;)

@hel - I guess that is sort of my style. I dunno - to say a song is incomplete to me presupposes that there is a certain structure for a song that is "correct", and I don't think that's true really. I think there can be something good about music that leaves you unsatisfied. That said, though… the music I'm making these days tends to be much less fragmentary.

Anyway, thank you all, glad to be back.

the word structure implies progression and evolution, which i'm not sure i would apply to single section pieces like Heat Death or Malfunction. there is no correct arrangement, it's what you do with what you have.

then again, i'm the kind of person who writes countless different parts in a certain rhythm and mixes them all into 10+ minute songs, a far less friendly extreme.

Well, to each his own. If everyone made music to the exact same rules, music wouldn't be very interesting. I think my songs are as complete as anyone's, just shorter.

And I don't think structure implies progression at all - buildings and organisms don't progress, but they have structure. This is just semantics, however.

Ah, I remember playing Mekanos. The tune sounds very similar to one from Super Metroid though :P

Oh. I've never played Super Metroid, sadly. I guess that's a compliment, though? The original Metroid has very good music.

Yes.

Downloading it right now. It's been a good week in music- Fall Be Kind leaked, I saw the Dirty Projectors/tUnE-YaRdS, and now this… so happy.

Do you have a last.fm?

I dig it. Really liking the opening and closing tracks (the first part of 'The Final Landing' has a nice Kid A vibe), and tracks 2 and 4… actually all of them are fantastic.

Is it cool to sample these? I don't have anything in mind yet, just checking for the future.

It is indeed cool to sample them. :) Thanks for the input.
