Okay. I have a few things to say to a lot of people.
First of all, to the people who truly believe you're doing something worthwhile at Stencyl, give up. k beautifuls? You're useless. All of you.Next I'd like to mention that all the hard work I put into the old var is down the tube, because instead I put several hours into building the better one. It is now Twelve (12) times faster than GM at everything. And with just a for loop, due both to GM's var's speed and to GM's interpreter's speed, ENIGMA is fifty (50) times faster, no modification to code required. Now, here's my take on where this is going, and if you disagree, I don't give a shit. Go tell the lake it isn't wet. I don't care anymore.GAME MAKER WILL NEVER BE SECURE.So when Sandy tries to tell you all how useless the decompiler will be in a "little bit," remember two things: 1) The creator is not dead. And he intends to make another.2) A "little bit" is no less than 8 months. No matter what they do to the runner, your code is interpreted. READ BY A RUNNER. R-E-A-D. IT CANNOT BE ENCRYPTED BEYOND REVERSE, OR IT WILL NOT WORK.That's the FUNNY FUCKING THING about code you have to READ. It's also why REAL compilers, including my own, take your code and make it into lower level languages. By the time ENIGMA and GCC are done with your game, it's ASM. And believe me, if you can reconstruct that… Well, you can't. Because a game is 10 megabytes as legible asm.Next, a lot of you have tried the ENIGMA pre-alpha. Emphasis on the pre part, and the alpha part, and the pre part again. That thing was just to show you people we haven't fallen asleep. UNLIKE STENCYL. What do they have? A site they spent two months on, and nothing more.So remember some things.Game Maker: An interpreted shit-language that will never be fast, or secure. Wonderful.Stencyl: Nothing to make fun of. Because there is nothing.I like the Stencyl fanboys. They hang around the well-put-together forum and talk of their hopes and dreams that will never be realized, and how cool a game they will one day make when Stencyl bothers to show up. Quite cute. Now you can go ahead and pick at how complicated the ENIGMA pre-alpha is, just because it is so damn hard to figure out that a pre-alpha of the very first release in fact is not finished. The Alpha, that is to say, alpha, not pre-alpha; is far more stable and far more finished, complete with a collision system compliments of luda, a more stable, faster var class compliments of yours truly, data stacks and perhaps more compliments of Rusky, and a damn syntax checker to make my little nubblets aware that the damn function doesn't exist yet. Nummy. Thanks for reading, I haven't ranted in a while, and I needed that.No offense to the other teams. We're just gonna rip you a new asshole and screw you up it. Addendum. Thank you to NakedPaulToast for pointing out the obvious about every upcoming game development program out there.<here>However, you made one mistake.NEVER CALL THOSE IDIOTS AT YOYO PROFESSIONAL.If they ran into a wall they would proceed to repeat the process until it gave and let them pass. You can insult whoever the fuck you want, but open your Goddamn eyes and take a gander at whose developing your precious Game Maker. A bunch of idiots no better than my team and I, and their money. Which they have plenty of.Hell, they spelled their name wrong on their fucking buttons when they were developing the site. They think they can convince us all we'll be safe from the nasty little decompilers. HA! They were outdone by a teenager just like us, who got their games apart no problem.Think about it a little before kissing Yoyo's ass.Addendum 2Ludamad says:http://www.pixeljoint.com/2007/04/14/2144/Its_Called_Stencyl_and_it_Pwns.htmLudamad says:seriously?Ludamad says:wowLudamad says:;_;Ludamad says:not even a fucking screenshotLudamad says:and they are cock-worshipping itJosh @ Dreamland says:hahaJosh @ Dreamland says:it's wonderfulJosh @ Dreamland says:i love stencylJosh @ Dreamland says:it's so easyJosh @ Dreamland says:because no one has itJosh @ Dreamland says:(>-.-)>Josh @ Dreamland says:mustJosh @ Dreamland says:haveJosh @ Dreamland says:stencylJosh @ Dreamland says:such a sexy interfaceJosh @ Dreamland says:that no one has seenJosh @ Dreamland says: (>-.-)>Ludamad says:oh dearLudamad says:an IRC channelJosh @ Dreamland says:so much better than gmLudamad says:can i resist?Josh @ Dreamland says:which at least existsJosh @ Dreamland says: (>-.-)>Josh @ Dreamland says:noJosh @ Dreamland says:u can no has restJosh @ Dreamland says:join lejinJosh @ Dreamland says:u mustLudamad says:lulJosh @ Dreamland says: (>-.-)>Josh @ Dreamland says:(this is totally going in my blog)
Nothing irretates me more than when people say, "But why do people hate Fred? Why does everyone hate YYG? Their website has many users!"
It is true that I visit the site, but only to find higher quality games to help with, which are mainly only on the front page. Which is what? 10? 15 games? bahHaha. I have no room to talk there, as enigma has all of six games to show from its demo stage. But that is quite sad, yes.
Stencyl sounds like utter crap.
ENIGMA, on the other hand, doesn't and hasn't. Best of luck with this project. Two things:
1) Money is inversely proportional to professionalism.2) Stupid fancy-pants cartoony graphics on your website alienates anyone over the age of 12.Given that ENIGMA targets talented teenagers who appreciate professionally developed game development software, you're onto a winner. Now, all you need is the first stable version and some form of marketing campaign. That last link Juju posted just gave all my unborn children nightmares
Is your child going to be born over the age 12?
Yep. He's on some strange prenatal hormone treatments.
