As I have mentioned a couple time I am trying to be a self-eomployed web designer. Because of this I am really in need of a good website host. Right now I am considering this http://hosting.aplus.net/soloxr.html is it a good deal? I am going to need a lot of bandwidth and space for what I plan to do and 2000gb bandwidth is a lot better than my current 100gb. Plus they have good domain name stuff, and since I plan to have like 10 domain names before 2009 that is important =p
So what do you guys think? Got a better host for me to look at? Or should I go with this.edit: ok now I plan on using bluehosttz-c.com:I am going to replace it with a game archive site similar kind of like yoyogames meets 64digits now that I think about it. It shall be called Game Plan ater my old game idea archive that I never took the time to finish.Pyco:Still hoping to finish the forum beta by sunday, despite everyone trying to give me other stuff to do =p
Aplus SUCKS, and they will rip you off. (No, this isn't our host.)
Try Dreamhost.^Whoa, drama.
Aplus.net is horrible, don't even think about it. Use Dreamhost or Hostgator. Hostgator is preferable.
Every single host ive seen has people saying it sucks <_< Ive heard bad stuff about dreamhost before <_< Never heard of hostgator.
You mean the host won't give you tons of bandwidth for a dime? Those bastards…
<table><tr><td><script src=http://www.bluehost.com/src/js/bsgprogr/64Digits/160x600/1.gif></script></td><td valign=top>I use Bluehost, and I'm very happy. They're somewhat expensive, (~$100 a year), but they offer 3TB of bandwidth, 300GB of space, unlimited domains and such. I've only had 3 downtimes with them that I can recall, once when they moved to a bigger data center, once when my whole box was under a large DOS attack for 2 days, and once for an hour's worth of scheduled maintenance.
I get Cpanel 11, Fantistico, PHP 5, Perl 5, CGI, Python, Ruby and Rails, Cronjobs, SSL, and a ton more stuff I have no use for [:P].But anyway, I'd suggest you take a look. Please use this referral link if you want to use them, cause it will save me $65 on my next bill. [:D]</td></tr></table>bluehost looks good and cheap, im guessing they make you pay all at once instead of monthly right?
Yes, and they give you a discount if you pay two years in advance.
If I ever move from Freehostia, it'll be to Bluehost now that I've heard of how good it is.
Yeah I am going to try to get a 2 year hosting thing from bluehost within a week.
