So now that I need a new laptop, I've been trying to figure out the exact laptop I want. It needs to be something new, from either amazon.com or hp.com and I'd like it to be an hp pavillion dv7. So my current laptop was something like this:

Yeah - The Onion started in print. Its pretty popular in a bunch of cities with colleges, my brother down in Austin, Texas gets it.
They're the same card, but "switchable" means that your display can switch between using your GPU, or a lower power onboard GPU, which is probably a good thing for power consumption.
K, they seemed the same to me but I wasn't sure. How does the power compare to my current laptop though? From what I've managed to find so far, it seems like like it will be just a tiny bit better in most situations.
my friend had a similar laptop to that, until he got mugged :(
Just dont get a cheaper HP laptop, they are absolutely terrible, and you have to yell at the indians before they will do anything for you.
I didnt know that about the onion :o thats pretty coolhttp://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6175us-Entertainment-Notebook/dp/B0051OM3W8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1309404440&sr=1-1
This is the one we've pretty much decided on, not the cheapest place you can find it but when you include the free xbox its an awesome deal. The Onion is a real newspaper in MANY a city, like DC and Austin. Hell, its distributed in free in Austin where I live when I stay there.
12 cities or so, actually. So most people wont be seeing it.
