So, I've just received all of my prizes for the recent compo and now it's back to regular school work and whatnot. I had a few ideas planned but unfortunately they won't be making any progress, so it's quite boring around here. I'm just anticipating winter break right now, since that'll give me quite some time to fool around. But right now it sucks.
An 8 month old computer of mine somehow killed itself recently, and thus I have to send it in for repair under warranty because I don't even have a clue about where the problem is at the moment, and yes, HP Tech Support is the best thing that I've ever come across in my life. It seriously is. I bought a recovery disk even though I doubted it would work, but those dudes needed proof before I could send the tower in, so after an hour of crap, they finally told me there must be something wrong with the motherboard. All that happened was the computer suddenly turned itself off when I left it sitting on CNN for half an hour. Talk about retarded. Apparently it wasn't even the hard drive that was causing the Blue Screen of Death because the thing said it was working properly, but in reality I heard strange sounds, so I just got pissed and there's no way I'm spending a single dollar to fix something like that. 12 days till I get it back, so it's rather frustrating.I want a laptop. That is all.…I hate Vista.
Im getting a laptop for christmas, but its nothing special. You won money on play-asia right? Whatter you gunna buy with it?
Probably some stuff for the Wii. The PC games either suck or are too good for my computer.
…I don't even have a Wii yet because it's nearly impossible to get one atm. I'm going to have to wait a while.I had a wii on launch. Then i sold it. In my opinion it was more of a novelty than a gaming system. If i was you id buy a 360. Then again, im not you.
I'm more of a nintendo guy, I'd prefer playing SSBB over whatever might come out on the Xbox 360 or PS3. Also, I can't spare too much money so a Wii is perfect (We don't celebrate Christmas, unfortunately.)
"The PC games either suck or are too good for my computer."
Uhh, I think that they are just too good.Well, if you go over and look at play-asia's selections a lot of them are games that I've never even heard about/ are a bit old. I really want to play UT3, but I can't afford a new computer right now.
The Wii isn't a novelty (OK it is but it's not just a novelty), it's as if Sony and MS keep saying that to put off serious gamers.
I love XP/Linux (Xubuntu)
Yay! Another linux user!
Laptops break more than PCs. I hope you truly do love Tech Support. If you pick up a laptop, buy the longest warranty available.
