Yes you heard correctly, Kaz sucks. Why? Because I just cant comprehend how to make online games. I started using 39dll and followed the tutorial and made the pong game. It worked fine after I fixed a few things so I thought I would try to make a simple platformer online. Once I actually started I had no idea what to do. I tried going over the pong tutorial and anything else I could find but to no avail. So I tried Soc 2.0, that made even less sense for some reason even though CAMD said it was easier. I then said what the hell, lets learn mplay, that has to be easy. Nope. So would anyone be nice enough to get me started making online games?

Go straight away to gm's site. Download the online tutorial. It is pretty easy to understand.

you gotta start somewhere. You can't be an expert if you aren't a novice first.

If you understand mplay I don't know what's wrong with you and SOC, it is almost the same. Works the same way, exactly.

If you don't know mplay and you don't try because "it is slower", man, come and learn it first. I learned mplay, used it for a while until I really needed to find faster ways.

and it isn't slow, it is inefficient, and sometimes it is slow not because mplay itself but the programmer who tries to send everything in one step in a bunch of messages and using a bunch of shared data slots.

yeah, you do have to start somewhere… Shadow Yoshi's chat is all GML… try out Mplay first then advanced Mplay then .dlls

also, Shadow and I have told MetalGearAcid10 about you, so they don't really worship you, even though that would be fun, it would hurl us into a world filled with death, doom, and oblivion… yup…

I have tried mplay. I understand mplay, Soc, and 39dll now. But for some reason Soc isnt letting me connect to others.

Mplay is pretty simple, but I hate it since it's slow and generally incompatible for some reason.
