So I have rewritten "Red Snow" a little.

I am going to continue it.

Red Snow

By Eric Fraze

Location: The Garcan Meeting Hall

Date: May 11, 7056

The room was jet black, dead silent. Beings stood at attention, Garcans. A Garcan’s blue skin feels shark-like, rough like sand paper. Their legs look reverse jointed with hooves for feet, torsos wide, necks long, and their crowns end in four mandibles, lined with sharp, wolf-like teeth; when closed these mandibles form a muzzle, when fully opened an “Xâ€? appeared upon their faces, a dark hole of a throat centered in the middle. Metallic blue-gray armor covered up to the four appendages of every Garcan. Fixed by light magnates to their armor hung weapons, almost unnoticeable. Each in the war party held a six-foot pike, ended in a split-arrow shape.

All speedily hunched over, a customary sign of respect towards the speaker, as a muscle bound Garcan in golden armor made it’s way to the podium. He stared at them, waiting to make an example of anyone who stood out from the crowd, though he knew all “mixed breedsâ€? died, because of his men – or the cold. Satisfied he began to speak his well practiced black lie. In a voice deep, and frightening he roared, “Our race was once powerful, dare I say godly?â€?

“Godly!â€? came the crowd’s rehearsed cry.

“But then it happened, The Great Freeze, when the cold embraced the planet; the ice storms it conjured riddled our homes with holes, freezing thousands…â€? – His voice rose, his speech gained momentum, “But we live! What would fuel such a doomed race?â€?

“Revenge!â€? the crowd recited as bodies of the unfortunate “inferiorsâ€? piled up – toleration to inferiors would put you in that pile as well, here in this “perfectâ€? society.

“Yes,â€? the speaker hissed, â€?You have seen what those beasts wrought! You have seen the death! What do we have to do, where would our only option to survive come from?â€?

“War!â€? screeched the crowd. They banged their staffs three times in unison.

“And war on whom?â€?

“Ranger Team 01 reporting, we have our scopes on the matching Garcans now, permission to fire?â€? Tom said, his rifle aims for the clearest target.

“Not granted, Garcans have a treaty with Humans, they have even cross-married with us. Fire only if provoked,â€? the radio replied, “Maintain radio silence, the Garcans may listen in.â€?

Tom would never hear a human voice again.

“General, the Stealth Teams should reach human scouts now,â€? panted a flimsy Garcan, "They kill silently."

“Good, now, how will we bring down that wall?â€? asked the muscled speaker from the last Garcan rally, his golden armor shone in the starlight. He pointed to the Human outpost’s wall, a single gate stood there, the only known entrance.

“I have p–“ The quite bolt of a rifle sounded, the bullet that followed quieted the flimsy Garcan forever. Following it’s course, the yellow flash streaked though the helmet of the General, leaving a scar across his jaw, it’s blood froze and turned black. As the armor regenerated over the hole, he turned to his men.

“Kill the humans, crush that wall!â€?

“Aha! That showed him!â€? screamed Tom. “One primary target killed, the other has a minor wound to lick,â€? He voiced into the radio.

“I will take note to rip out your tongue so you won’t be able to lick the wounds I inflict upon you!â€? The radio spat back. Tom’s face turned as white as the snow around him – he picked back up the rifle, it’s barrel still smoking, and started out into the snow. An on looking man would have thought his direction dooming, he headed away from the camp, away from the outpost, away from his life. Tom’s fingers danced in his pockets, sorting through the bullet shells, kept in caution, no need to leave a trail. The mans fingers stiffened – and his thumb went down. He did not look back, no reason too, the blast’s sound wave told him well, the shock wave came to reassure any doubts.

“We will take no prisoners in this war, we will give them none.â€?

He quoted his captain, a final farewell to all he knew.

An explosion rocked the outpost, the citizens scurried into their houses, their shelters, where they felt safe from the reality of it’s meaning. War: Merely saying the word brought more fear into their minds. The streets empty, a line of soldiers appeared, walking for the center of town, once there, the line split into fourths, each reaching their own ladders, fifty men to each. Up went the guards, down went the guns each aimed for a smiling Garcan.

“Boom!â€? One Garcan yelled, jumping forward.

“Bang!â€? Yelled each guard. – They stood at a standstill, no one wanted to take the first shot. Hours passed, both sides blinked slower and slower, soon, they fell asleep.

Early morning brought a sort of peace to Tom, but it also brought him an advantage, one he would not let pass by. The rays of the planet’s nearest star hit his back, he could see the Garcan Army waking from it’s slumber, a smile slipped pass cracked lips. He saw his target, a bomb, he had expected as much, Garcans did not boast their brain power. He aimed his last shot, once he fired, he would die.

“I’ve lived in this cold to long.â€? Tom complained – and pulled the trigger. The yellow flash caught the General’s eye, he knew it’s direction, he did not care, that sniper, the only thing that mattered to him lay in his grasp. – Tom stood, his weak body barely lifting him. – The General fired, Tom smiled, and the bomb set off.

“On this day, thirty years ago, one man took his life for ours. His sacrifice lead to the first of many victories against the Garcans!â€? The crowd cheered, clapped, and cried from joy. “On this day, thirty years ago, one man took his life forâ€? – An explosion rocked the outpost, the citizens scurried into their houses, their shelters, where they felt safe from the reality of it’s meaning. Nope. No one ever reads through everything. Ever. Not even I, who always reads through everything.

I'm just too tired to read it all right now.

It's actually not bad at all. MFA is right though, it's quite a long read. I read the first three paragraphs of it, and it was great. Maybe writing one or two paragraphs

an entry might help ease the reading load.
