We've got some pretty awesome games coming out for various systems this year, but these are on the top three (for me at least). Crysis, the next-gen video game being developed by Crytek, with DX10 uber graphics and amazing physics, Half Life 2: Episode II because the Half Life series rocks, and Portal, another addition to the Half Life series, which is going to be the coolest puzzle game ever invented.
CrysisCrysis is basically a game with super good graphics, mega awesome physics, and leet multiplayer. Its being developed by the same people who did Far Cry (though the games have no relations). Here are some screenshots (well, at least, my favorite ones):They're pretty big, so you'll just have to hit the link.http://www4.incrysis.com/screenshots/fever_3.jpghttp://www4.incrysis.com/screenshots/Multiplayer-02.jpghttp://www3.incrysis.com/screenshots/crysis-pose-soldier.jpgSee, the cool thing is, if it looks destructible, you can destroy it. Wanna go into a small house through the roof? Bash it in with your nano-suit. Wanna go for a less subtle approach? Use a tank to totally eliminate it. And online should be awesome… hopefully my rig can run it! If you really want a good look at the engine, Check out the Cryengine 2 demo video here! Its awesome!Half Life 2: Episode IIAh, the good 'ol Half Life series. One of the greatest game storylines to date, in my opinion. Specially that mysterious G-Man, who's everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Anyways, EPII looks great, the devs promised us a new weapon, and looks like we'll be able to use a cool new jeep as well. Also, I'm sorry to say, it looks like Alyx dies.Personally I'm hoping to see the return of Father Grigori, but I don't think its happening, unless we revisit Ravenholm (which is probably the scariest level in Half Life 2).Not much more to say about thatPortalAh yes, Portal, probably the most awesome creation since the word leet. You are set in this weird testing lab, and given a combination of the Gravity Gun and a handheld portal device, and are expected to go through a bunch of puzzle obstacles. I can't explain it that well, so check out The Portal Demonstration Video on this page. It'll seriously get you wanting this game.Apparently it has something to do with the actual Half Life storyline. We don't really know where the lab is, or indeed who the orange jump-suited player is. Perhaps its a combine laboratory? They use those weird combine incinerator balls… I sure hope not. Episode III's enemies will be wielding that, creating portals all over the place and causing you to fall out of cliffs… *shivers*Anyways, thats all for now, more games later!Oh yea, and I finally fixed my host-join problem. Apparently I spelled a variable wrong when I initialized it, and it was the core variable… oh well, happens to the best of us! [:D]
