Some basic info about the game:
It's an online multiplayer game using Byond, graphics are x4 size, so the pixels are very noticeable, hence the name "Pixel RPG". The name might change, but I think it fits well enough. The game is largely focused on your character and the path you take. You can learn any skills by finding skill masters, you can use any weapon at any time and those weapons level as you progress, you can have conversations with NPCs (even early on you can piss off the guard captain and he'll refuse to give you a quest). There are no items, things like potions don't exist, you recover outside of battle and you can learn recovery skills from certain skill masters, skills have no mana cost, only a recharge time. Anyways, I hope it proves interesting in game and that people will like it in the end. As you can see below, I haven't gotten all that much done. Sadly, I have another project to attend to and I haven't spend enough time on this. I might not end up finishing by the end of the contest, but I intend to continue it after the contest anyways, so if you become interested in the game, you can follow it afterwards.Things done: - Dialogue & dialogue chain - Basic battle system (excluding attacks from monsters/weapons not made) - Basic leveling system (weapons level up as well) - Small amount of graphics… - Basic menu system - Control/Flow (moving, getting hit, gravity, etc)Things not quite done: - HUD - Pause screen - Title screenThings to do: - Skill Masters - Skills - Quests - More enemies - More area graphics - More stages/areas - Multiplayer text box - Pretty things up - Sound - Music - Probably even more that I can't think of Below are a few screenshots, keep in mind, the area is not complete, so it looks a little bland/open in some of the screenshots.Basic attack:Charge up:Charge attack:Talking to the captain of the guards:Wearing armor:Being slimy:
I can be a slime :DDDDD
Good luck.Oh yeah, and "Pixel" has been used so much in game titles that it's pretty much lost any meaning by now. Especially when not every aspect of your game is pixelartsy in the first place (*cough* text *cough*)@Cesque:
Ah, yeah, I see your point with the "Pixel" word being over used in titles. Well, hopefully I'll come up with a good name at some point, before the competition ends.this looks very good :)
