This is a story i've been working on periodically, throughout today..
It was, or at least, to the people living, the worst time possible, a time comparable to that of the great black plague, of the times during the Medieval period of time. Famine, Disease, and Poverty plagued the land. It was the rise of intellect, the rise of Magick, The rise of love, the rise of positivity. Many people would come to be known, forevermore, as the masons of the Future, laying down the path to the future, The path to success…It was during this time, when the genius, Askrib, introduced himself to the world. He was nothing more than a Heretic, at least, to the people of his village, the village of Urmesh, in the Fabled land of Usteria, Which, itself, is located in the Mythological Country of Mæstylus, A beautiful portion of the world. Askrib, as recognized by his peers, was a Foolish heretic, constantly talking against the views that society has been forced to believe, much like the famous Astronomer, Gallileo Gallilei. He, in combination with many other geniuses from the same land, would be the prophet of the technological advances, of the prosperous advances that Mæstylus was set to experience.Askrib could constantly be seen in the streets, carrying about his weekly newsletter, hoping to get someone to take it. He believed that information shouldn't be paid for, so he gave away his newspaper to people who would take it, so long as they would agree to read it, and prove it to him. Many people ignored him, but, a select few in the city, or rather, the Village of Urmesh, such as Cristo de Garde, a European conquistador who made his way to Mæstylus somehow, Aster, a wise old man from the far-off village of Surmish, Not to far from Urmesh itself, and, of course, Askrib's greatest friend, Dichotomus, a Greek philosopher who also managed to find the area itself…Now, in the village of Urmesh, many buildings were built, rather than on ground level, but supported, awkwardly enough, by the unstable walls of a nearby cliff. What has surprised the people of Urmesh the most is that no one has gotten hurt, as of yet, because of it. It was to be said that Urmesh was one of the most peaceful village in Mæstylus, despite it's reputation as a war-faring village from long ago. Despite the buildings on the hills, there were still Buildings, primarily economic based buildings that couldn't support destruction of themselves, such as Hotels, Food markets, And so on.As for Askrib himself, one could not easily describe him. He wasn't a handsome man, according to most people, but, in his mind, that mattered not, because, the only thing that matters is how you treat others, and how you act. He was a physically meager man; He didn't have much of a body build, rather, he looked much like a scholar, who constantly stays inside to study, as opposed to increasing his body mass. He often wore rags of clothes, primarily because he did not have the money to buy anything nice, but, even more so, it was because he didn't care to show off the perversion of the mind by spending money on something unneeded when you already have clothing. He had long, and rather messy hair, or, as some may call it, rather SHAGGY hair. It was brown, with highlights of gray in it. It went down to about his mid-back, and he believed it looked great. His eyes were a shade of Deep azure, And he believed that it was the most beautiful color on earth…Askrib himself was constantly in the village square, trying to hand out his newsletter to people such as Uz'riel, The village's mayor, Zhramin, a mystical humanoid who was actually part Human, and part Tiger. In his mind, Zhramin really wanted to help Askrib, and take his newsletter, and perhaps, join him in his campaign to bring about equality, and furthermore, happiness to the people. And eventually, Zhramin would do just that. But, he was afraid to be seen in public, trying to help a heretic…A typical dialogue between Askrib, and a normal citizen would be somewhat like, "Pardon me, Good fellow. Will you please accept this newsletter, based upon the compiled views of my mind?", a typical line by Askrib. As per the citizen, he would commonly say something like, "No. Please, begone, Heretic. Pester me no more.. I have much to do today…," and they would walk off. He had nothing against these people, and in fact, wished them rather well. It's their choice to help him or not, and he respects their decisions. Despite his heresy, Everyone still respects him because of his social Niceties. It could be easily said that Askrib was a psychotic man, but that's only because heresy was considered as either mental retardation, or major psychosis, in Urmesh, and thus, he was defined as a psychotic man. The only thing that keeps him from the Mentally Deficient category would be the fact that he holds a great knowledge to many.Urmesh was constantly visited by Nomads, hoping to stay there for a time, and one of these nomads was no more than Tsairuzh'k, He who was destined to be Askrib's Co-Prophet, so to speak, or, in a more modern term, he was somewhat like the vice president of a company. The two became great friends in a short amount of time, and Tsairuzh'k decided to move into Urmesh, to help Askrib with what he does. He can also often be seen, wandering the streets, primarily in the Housing area of the village, handing out the same newsletterI've been writing it off of the top of my head…Any thoughts on it?
That was really good.
