Right now I'm working with 3DSMax. I do have to say its a pain in the arse. Much like every other program I'm using at the moment :D except GM…
I'm building a little mechanical spider, with animations. I think it might turn out pretty cool. I've already built a cathedral nave, which is awesome but the filesize of the image is too big (as a PNG) I'll have a look at making it smaller. In other news, Danse Machina is looking nice. I still haven't done much with it, but I'm fairly sure I can work on it some more over the weekend. It's my partner's birthday tomorrow so I won't be able to do much then, but tonight I'll get cracking. Maybe even get that fabled frist level done. Maybe.I've figured out the dual-weapon thingy. Its kinda cool too. I'll work on switching between the weapons.Well, I can't think of anything else new, so I'll go now.
I use 3DSMax too!
I'm horrible at it but I can make things move[:P]I always though it was pretty cool… untill I found that I could program with python and use GM…ROCK ON!You can't save animations as images, but you can save them asw .wmvs or .movs. Otherwise, you can render out images, by clicking the render button from the drop-down list, instead of the preview render button.
update: My lecturer semi-marked our stuff, and I got somewhere between a Distinction and High Distinction! Thats my first 3DSMAX project too! Everyone else got somewhere between a Credit and Distinction. I'm so happy :)Congrats on your mark. =D
I tried 3ds a couple years ago…I was too young to comprehend what was happening. XDI should try it again some time. What is a Danse Machina? It sounds like someone with little knowledge of speed runs would make…
Its a play on words. Danse Macabre is (french or latin, can't remember) for 'dance of death' - its when your body is held up and moving by bullets or other weapons, like in UT when you kill someone with a minigun and they stand there and get shot still.
Machina is latin for machine (eg. Deus Ex Machina means God from the Machine). How do you save it as a .wmvs and such?!?!
You need to animate it first, then when you select the render button, it brings up a screen asking how many frames you want to put out, then it just renders it to a .MOV file by default.
