Try seeing peoples games , then comment on them. Be a frequent on their games, share your experience with them, and in no time, im sure youll have freinds. Although i have none here, well, lets face it, im new. But, i have many other friends at other places. For instance, gms. Also, if they announce you a friend, add them to your friends list as well, because if they say theyll be your friend, then read "masterfunk's friends" and see none, theyll say, wtf?
