Thanks :3 You know when sometimes you just stumble upon something that works… this one scene is going to make the rest of the game look bad :/

It looks pretty 8D

haha well it looks very well detailed, good art style, but in my opinion I think you will be better off in the long run with your own background. Actual pictures tend to look out of place.

Yeah, I second Ferret here. If you're going to do that style, make sure you use a photo for every level/stage/whatever. Keep some consistency.

What's that photo of? Wyoming or something? That's the only place I know that's that desolate. I still like it.

Looks great, but as others said the photo is out of place given the style of the rest. The FOV detail you have going here (getting more detailed the closer things are to the character 'plane') is undermined by the photo. On the other hand, it does give it the feel of a stage background rather than any depth, which is kinda cool. It adds a finite layer, and draws the attention to the characters.

=D

Background needs some doing yeah, maybe throw a posterize filter on it? It'll look more in style with the foreground.

Mat 14 years, 9 months ago

Lol the background was just shoved in there to give the feel of the scene, I'm not going to use real photos :P

Something gets me about this. There isn't a whole lot of detail. The outlines are black. It's so simple. Yet it's so damn effective. The art style is awesome.

By the way, the wooden trailer walls…or whatever the hell they're called, on the truck are colored in such a way that they blend right in with the photo background, and it looks just like a black rectangle around it. It's not a problem, especially since you've stated you won't be using photos, but…

AM I NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICES THIS?
