Damage Control

So last weekend, I introduced a shipmate to Game Maker, resulting in us spending hours making a simple firefighting game. It was mostly just for our enjoyment making it, but we'll be uploading it eventually. The game itself is pretty rough around the edges. I considered tweaking and improving it, but we both decided it'd be best to just move on to a sequel.

So… get pumped for the super awesome sequel to the super mediocre firefighting simulator you haven't even played!

This new game is going to be much improved over its predecessor. Much more variety in the game… different scenarios involving flooding, various classes of fires and the appropriate extinguishing agents, shipmates in need of rescue, etc. Improved gameplay mechanics will be implemented too. In the first game, we had the water spray in the precise direction of the nearest fire because it was easy to implement and easy for us because we're developing it on laptops without mice. This will no longer be the case: There will be a control mode for laptops where you aim using the left/right arrow keys, and a control mode for desktops where you use the mouse.

Anyway, keep an eye out for it. Shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks to develop.

I suppose a firefighting game would be the solution to a non-violent FPS.
