Is screen 8 newer?
i can't tell if the keyboard in screen 8 looks better or sticks out too much, kind of pushes it. same with the bed and the picture on the wall, violating the large pixels with smaller ones kind of just doesn't work, it gives them a clashing feel. i'd say leave the tilesets alone where possible.
I think the precision in screen8 (take the smaller, more detailed pixels in the keyboard, for example) is unnecessary and doesn't match the rest of the game. I see you're probably using an average size of 2x2 per game pixel, so you really should stick to that rather than try for extra detail. It makes the game blend in itself much better.
Yes, the original tiles are 16x16, blown up to 32x32.
The plan though is to eventually improve all the tiles so nothing sticks out as looking more or less detailed.And yes, screen 8 is newer.
