I recently went round to my granddad’s to fix his two computers, one keeps coming up with a program demanding a confirmation code, however, he never actually downloaded this program before. The other computer had a relatively similar problem, coming up with an error message linked to hpqthb08.exe.
i found that both are caused by some software included in an installation package for his printer drivers (he has five printers)both problems are fairly common, and have fixes released for them. The first requires that I install MDAC2.8.exe which I did, but when I tried to run it, it claimed that it could not run on his operating system. I checked online and it stated that it could be used on XP, vista and windows seven, and the computer is running XP so there shouldn’t be a problem. The second seems simpler, and all several forums reckon I need to do is uninstall hpqthb08.exe using the “add or remove programsâ€? in control panel, however the list does not include this. I have searched through his files and can't find it, or anything related to it, no installers or autorun, or anything.I’ve probably just missed something stupid, but it would be appreciated if you could helpThanksMoikle

According to the internet.im sure i looked there though, ill try again soon, so thanks anyway
nope, s'not there
*Shrugs* The internet has failed you.
I'm using Win7 so when I need to find something I just simply hunt it down manually, or use the "open file location" thing…as these comps are using XP I don't know, XP's searching isn't really all that top notch, you'll have to research about it more, or look hard.
it looks like its supposed to be there, because there are many other files with similar names, but the one i want isnt. but its definitely on his computer or he wouldnt get that error.
Virus maybe?
hmm, he doesnt have the internet on that computer but i guess there is still a chance it got sent from one computer to the other.
