Some sad tunes

Here are some melancholic tunes. None of which are finished.

This one is based on "Shape of my Heart" by Sting. I was instantly grabbed by the DVD-menu in the film "Léon", which plays an instrumental version of the song:

Fate of Léon.mp3

This is a remix of a nice little track. Pretty sad.

A Child is Dead.mp3

This composition was just a tiny part of a Frankie Goes to Hollywood-tune. A C64-composer snatched it up, and made it into a tune of it's own. It's a really nice and simple composition. I made this almost a year ago, I think.

The World is Your Oyster.mp3

This is an original track. Posted it before, but I'm sure most missed it.

Nostalgia.mp3

This track was composed on the C64 (with some additions by myself). The guy who made it actually hanged himself. He lived in the forest in the last years of his life, as far as I know. It's a cute little tune.

Still 13 Inside.mp3

This one isn't very melancholic. It's an original track. For some reason I like it, even though the mixing is pretty flawed. I like how sludgy the bass moves along. It makes the tune sound "grand".

Havregryn.mp3

Also, that remix of "Sweet" I made has actually gone to the number one spot at RKO. I doubt it'll stay for too long, but it has been there for a few weeks now!

I put it on YouTube as well:

one of the synths in the middle of Fate of Leon kills my fragile ears, but the rest of it is way too good to let that bother me. i like A Child is Dead and Still 13 Inside too. i wish there was more to Havregryn, it feels like there should be more before the beginning, the break 2 minutes in feels more like a climax in a long epic track. that's just how i think when i write though lol

So what program did you use to make these? They sound pretty high-quality.

Since this is a gamemaking-based site, I should say that for me, music makes the game. Having these kinds of tracks playing at the right time cause more emotional buildup than the actual event itself.

I liked A Child is Dead, though one of the instruments felt a bit too strong for it to really be sad.

Fate of Léon is really nice.

Kilin: I use FL Studio 9, with a bunch of VSTs and effects.
