It's me… erm, no, not really. It's YOU.
So hello 64Digits, it's been a while since I posted here. Why? Well, several factors. One, my sucky dialup (yes, I'm still with this crap) got even crappier: it refused to work. I had to call my phone company to fix it, because it was apparently their fault. Two, I haven't gotten a new laptop like I was told I was going to get. I was kind of waiting for that to happen before I posted here again…I see the GMC decided to make a community game, and 64Digits is willing to beat it in quality, among other things. I can't wait to see what 64D comes up with, if anything. I mean, I don't want to bring everyone's hopes down, but come on, 64Digits' old motto was "driven by lazyness." Nothing involving more than 1 person in the community ever got far. Though honestly I really want this game to beat the GMC's, so I'm volunteering to help out as much as I can.I hate PeoplePC. I install their crap software just to hope to get faster page loads (it has a program that makes pictures low resolution, down to say, 3kb each, no matter the size). Well, later I find out that I can't use anything but Internet Explorer anymore, and worse of all, I can't use wireless internet anymore. I uninstalled the software, but only the part that lets me use more than one browser was fixed - my wireless internet is still broken. This sucks, cause I recently got access to my school's network. The signal shows as excellent, and Windows recognizes it and even says it's connected, but no internet. Bah, I wish I was a computer expert… well, not really, I just wish I could fix this stupid problem.I'll be back when I break the room's door down brb
Holy fuck nuts. PeoplePC is shitty, but it's the fastest internet I've had and still do. Accelerator doesn't do shit to be honest though, sure you might get a noticeable increase in page loads but is seeing blurry boobies worth it?
I don't really look at pr0n, I just go to forums and stuff, so I didn't mind using the accelerator, I just wanted to try it out. I liked the little speed increase, but giving up my wireless internet permanently was NOT worth it. =/
My wireless still works… As far as I know.
My software modem died last week so I had to buy a new modem, which of course gives me lesser download speeds of 3kb/sec. I miss my 5kb/sec. :(My phone line has static (I was hoping I would get rid of it when I called up the company), so I'm down to 3kb/s too.
I'm guessing it's not the PeoplePC software then… damn, then I have no idea what's wrong.I remember when I was at my brother's house I tried to connect to their internet through an ethernet cable, but it gave me limited access meaning I was online but couldn't use the internet, never could figure out why that happened, I think Windows said it was something to do with the ISP information.
Since they got their router though I can connect just fine though. My guess would be that it's your wireless connection and not your computer's fault, unless it works for other things then who knows.I previously had access to two different ones, one of them worked before I installed the software. Then both of them stopped working (the one I didn't have access to before was the school's, but now I do) after I installed the PeoplePC stuff, so I thought that was it.
Edit: Now that I think of it, an ethernet cable has never worked for me, but it does to other people's laptops… (I always try the school ones they let us use, no luck)You might wanna re-install some drivers and reset a bunch of settings, I had some problems with my internet and it seems that messing around long enough fixes it =p
that medic is a SPY
Silly jw, it's the scout.
I was with a PC that was out of date in 2000 and dial up for years too. But recently I got a new computer and it's awesome. Good things come to those that wait. Just wait and save your money.
