A huge column of achievements, crumbling down to settle into dust.
The huge pillar I had spent all the possible energy I had on to build, destroyed by only a few blows. That pillar didn't matter at the end – and neither did the previous, smaller pillars that stood before it, for the REAL pillar is the next one. It doesn't matter what comes crumbling down after the blows are over. Now what matters is what I build there instead, and how long it will stand before the next hit. Because the only time I'll stop making pillars is when I'm dead.
