i went running today and it was schweet.

i ran today, for 17 minutes. and i'm pretty glad, because i have been so lazy lately that for the first time since my middle school years… i've gained so much weight that my THIGHS got bigger. big enough for them to rub against each other now when i walk… and that's a new low for me.

so i came up with a game plan. i saw this model/pornstar that used to be pretty chubby and worked her ass off to become a top-level model not from plastic surgery but from honest hard work. i was thinking, "hey, if this chick can do it, so can I!" and it's true. MONTHS ago, i was the skinniest i had EVER been in my whole life… and now i'm so big that i've started to revert back to the chubbiest years i've had in my life.

i just saw an article on voat… dunno if any of you go there, but if you do, it mentioned how less and less americans per year are interested in losing weight. at this point, not worrying about your health is just going with the flow…. which is the exact brainless fish in a stream mentality i'm TRYING to stay away from.

but seriously… the last four days… i did nothing but wake up, turn on netflix, watch it for 12-16 hours… SITTING ON THE COUCH ONLY, eat, and go back to bed. it. was. awesome.

but holy fuck did i lose weight and precious valuable time. i'm turning 23 and i'm training myself to be a couch potato by lazying around in workout clothes that before this morning i wasn't using.

i know this is a game dev site and none of u give a fuck about fitness, but hell it's my goddamn blog

not running in the cold is for pussies and is a piss poor excuse to not run. i ran in 40 degree weather and it was bomb

Running in the cold weather is good for my body? That's great, I'm already running 2-3 times a week, about 30-45 minutes each time, and since there won't be a warm day in Finland until late March or early April… man, I must be über healthy by the summer!

yeah man just use a bennie or a hat and you're set. apparently from some dude in the comments you lose most of your body heat from your head. i ran even though the first few minutes of cold SUCKED, i got used to it and by the end the cold wasn't bothering me at all. i was just super tired.

and i want to look good. i USED to have a good body but being a Smash Bros. player and a shut-in doesn't do my body any favors. let's both look good in the summer jani!

Yes, let's do it! And if we fail, let's bribe someone to tell us we look good!

no dawg the reason i don't run 99% is because i'm too busy telling myself to love my fat. no need to bribe someone to tell me i look good… i already do that 24/7 for free

Last Monday I also went running around the relatively large square just a block away from my house. It takes about 3 minutes to do a full lap running.

I was extremely exhausted after doing just the first lap. I then did one lap just walking and then did another lap running. Boy, I almost died. I went back home immediately. I suppose that if I do this frequently enough eventually I'll improve.

Running is great. Often, the happiest moment of the week is the Saturday long run. I run 3-4 times a week, my usual routes are between 6 an 21 km.

Going without running for too long will make me jumpy and easily irritated, so the weather won't stop me unless it's really really bad. The runners high is a real thing.

C'mon, exercise may not decrease body mass, since you're likely to compensate for increased usage, but there's so much more to it. Agility, strength, endurance, accuracy, balance, respiration and lung-capacity, heart-rate and so on. Some things may be improved by just losing weight, and overdoing exercise may not be good for longevity, but If the goal is to be less of a couch-potato, move your butt.

Fucking use your body to enjoy life while you can. Find something you like to do. There are soo many things to choose from.
