An old project that sucked up so much of my free time is returning from the grave. After a year of hard work, I gave up on it and moved on. Now, about five months since my official announcement that it had passed on to the afterlife… It returns with a vengeance! Meet the new and improved Element Online.
The actual screen size is too big to fit nicely in the page, so here's a link to a more high res screenshot.http://i44.tinypic.com/11cf4gn.pngThis time, the graphical style is both superior aesthetically to the original, as well as less time consuming to produce. The battle transitions are totally smooth now, and take place in the same room which you encounter the enemies in, though it still has that separate battlefield feel to it, as the screen doesn't move while you're fighting. This will also make PvP easier to implement, as well as a party and assistance system. This version will surpass the original in nearly every respect. I intend to have an open beta ready sometime by the end of the month. Until then, I'll continue to post screenshots periodically as the development progresses.Anyways, I've had an eventful week. I saw a pea pod asking people to donate blood being chased by a giant chicken with a pitchfork in a library lobby yesterday. (Don't ask.) And though there were some bad spots, I had a great week overall. I've finally decided definitively that I'm getting a degree in computers, either engineering or computer science, it's nice to finally be sure about that. I was debating between that, or a degree in science, but when I saw all the different kinds of science degrees, I realized that I would never be able to decide on any ONE field there. So hopefully this degree will help me to get the kind of career that I will be able to make a living on, and enjoy.Anyways, a quick reminder to any admins on here that have access to the database and FTP, who actually know how to code that sort of thing: Fix the file manager and banner stuff. I'm still waiting to put up my epic avy/banner combo. And on that note, I'll wrap this up, until next time.
looks nice, hope it's bug free (besides those bees)
