WHY!?

WHYYY!?

I LOVE when my comp crashes, especially when you got loads of projects going on, all of my god damn music, and all of my work. Currently sitting on dad's laptop that can't play gm6 games.

My comp owns, but it sucks to. Some months ago it died because of one harddrive and they replaced it and yay the computer lived again untill now when the other old harddrive crashed too, or I think soo, it can't run windows without bluescreen with teh message:

unmountable_boot_volume

if anyone knows what to do please tell me!

Anyways it came very good when I have ordered a tablet for drawing on the pc, sigh. I will call support tonight, hope that my sacred files can be unvanished hehe.

Anyways I will survive, I got my guitar :)

1/ Insert the Windows Xp CD

2/ Start Windows Installation from pc boot

3/ Push R when Windows Instaltion says do you wish to use Recovery Console

4/ Once the Recovery Console has started it will display "Microsoft Windows(R) Recovery Console"

5/ Run the following command "fixboot c:" c being the partiation windows is held on.

6/ The enter "EXIT", this will restart the computer, remove the CD and let windows boot.

This will fix the boot paration, if this still fails do the same steps but instead run the command "FIXMBR"

Hope you have it up and running soon.

Actually, your HD probably isn't dead, it's MBR probably just got messed up.

Yep, if it's a new HD then it's probably not dead. All your data is still there, it's likely that your Windows installation has been screwed up.

Try sticking in a Windows CD and booting from it, then press 'R' for the repair option. Try the commands 'chkdsk', 'fixboot' and 'bootcfg /repair'.

Good luck.
