My Need To Revise Is A Desease.

So today I get done drawing Zero Akmars title screen for the 5th time. In my defence it's actually the changing concept art that incites it, but started from the graphical quality.

-Final I swear to god, or at least hope-

The first one just hurts eyes so I didn't bother uploading. I stuck with the same concept for the last three each time trying to make it more to look at. But 5 times isn't efficient. I mean.. This has happened before, and I made a DS thread about it;

-Moved up to some antro thing here. Because moving away from ripped graphics the blob was hard for me to sprite, when I could lego these sprites together peice by peice. Starfox is cool right? Wrong. I always dodged like tails and stuff because it's a Ninji, not no wolf-

-First forum I went on goes in this time frame, MFGG and GMC btw. Before that I used to download stuff from the libraries, and lurk on forums not actually knowing I can join and post in one (never thought about it either)-

-Became a Touhou fan here. Thought twice about the fury thing thanks to the internet, but didn't give a fuck enough, and decided to finish-

So after all that practice and sticking to what I started I'm done with the Mario shit, and the furry shit.

Oh I just thought it'd be interesting really. I will be getting back to work. Peace out and g'night. Also I'ma prepare me a flurdelis or zib RA Icon for next time. If ocf it is what I think it is, I don't know what RA means.

Sorry. that was a part of my life story. Also like the whole magic seal in the background and Bowser danmaku (uh it got worst, those sissy fireballs is just mid attack warmup)

Putting bullet hell elements in any game that isn't a shoot-em-up takes some real care. I know the Bowser barrage isn't intense or anything, but it still looks hard to dodge. That's not a bad thing, I like a little real dodging in my games.

That's a lot of revisions.

The touhou change looks cool but I have no idea how that would work in a platformer.

The players hitbox is only his chest, gravity is strong enough with the addition of really short possible jumps. So a fireball could 'wiff' by your legs when you take a jump 1/2 of your body height. The only wave cannon (masterspark) is fired as Bowsers last attack into the air in which it causes lasers to rain down.

-Light being drug to the ground; Physics fail.-

Oh it wasn't usually complete Touhou. Just Touhou enough for a butchered fangame. The only attacks with 20+ bullets were designed to be riddled with huge openings. Zero Akmar will have enemy flinching, and blocking in which some of the broadest attacks have virtually no chip damage, and most can be impeded or stopped to some degree.

Ah, forgot about a vertical approach, was thinking with projectiles (or lasers) coming only from the enemy horizontally from you. Looks fun.

Yeah, that is a lot of revisions. Don't worry about it, though, it means you have pride in your work and won't settle for any less than the best from yourself. I do the same. My first game, Elements of Escape, went through 3 major shake-ups before I was happy with it - although, looking back now, I'm still not happy with it.

Or another example, a novel I've been trying to write for some years has had no less than seven complete rewrites, and I've only ever got as far as Chapter 4.

Like Ferret, I thought you were doing a horizontal method. Dodging hundreds of bullets from the sky on a platformer would actually be a lot of fun.

But since you mentioned the Touhou references, one of your characters looks like Satori from Subterranean Animism. Is that intentional?

Oh if you mean purple haired man not really. Satori is cool tho. Concept art based on my friends often start with Touhou characters though. Like Okuu and Lunasa. Actually the character you might be mentioning is based on me lol. Started with Byakuren before I elaborated on it.
