Everyone seems to be jabbering on about it, and many seem very confident about them winning some money. I can imagine a lot of games will be submitted, many good and many bad.
I can only assume that the reason YYG are offering as much as $1000 for the prize is because they are looking for serious, quality games being submitted for them to sell their product with, and maybe a reputation boost.I also saw ChIkEn's old 64D winter competition entry submitted there, Snowys escape, so thats really lame. It should really be against the rules, but they state "You can submit a game you created in the past but only if it is not already published on YoYo Games", which is retarded because you could still submit practically anything that has been made at any time, or even remove and resubmit a game from the site.Anyway I have an idea for a pretty good entry that will probably never be completed, due to its scale and due to school work that I need to catch up on. I may be working with a friend on it, so if we are motivated and work together we might get it done. I seriously doubt this will happen though due to me becoming more and more social, and him spending a lot of his spare time with his paranoid girlfriend. I am afraid to share my plans for the project, as plagiarism will be likely to ensue from its sheer awesomeness.I can say a few things though. It will be 3D, strongly themed, epic, and have amazing gameplay, as we are mixing various gameplay elements from top commercial games. We may even have an online multiplayer mode if we feel it needs it. Go on. Have a stab at guessing the genre. A cookie to whoever gets it first.
@Noodle: They're advertising. A small sum to pay for greatness. But like OL sas, they have quite the amount of money.
Enough money to make Mark Overmars sell out to some degree.
Yes, if it wasn't for the positive members in the early years, GM probably wouldn't be where it is today.
Also, thanks for the shameless self linkage, Juju. Can I have self linkage too?
If you must. >___>
