I always think it's funny how different communities tend to be liked more than others. Myspace is more popular than Friendster, 64D seems to be more liked than GMC, etc. Why?
Well, I think it's the feeling of community. For example, at GMC, it's not a feeling of community as much as it is for 64D. Here, it's got more depth. Better people, badges for things, having your games showcased instead of put into a forum post. Here, it seems like more of a friendly place, and honestly, i'd rather be here.Does anyone else feel the same way? I mean, surely there has to be opinions about it. Which do you guys like better? 64D, or GMC, or any other forum? Why?Also, in game-related news, we've finished PowerPlanet 2: Powerplanet Advanced (or just PowerPlanet ADV. for short). If you guys liked the first one's concept, but had problems with stuff like gameplay and stuff, it's all fixed. Graphics, sound, gamplay (now there's an Easy and Hard mode). And if you guys havent played the first one: please do. Though it has its problems, it's still a good idea that we've expanded on. We're going to upload that one soon. We've been searching through old WIPs, and are finding a couple we might want to expand on. A platformer, an arcade game that deals with gravity, maybe a SWAT game. But, who knows. We're trying to find innovative ideas, but at the moment, because of school, we're forced to focus on other things (like girls, duh).
Also don't you think its going to be a bit biased asking the 64D community which they like better?
GMC used to feel really intimate. Everybody knew each other, we'd chat daily on AIM. Get together and play Warheads SE… and looser rules, fewer members, offtopic forum, and mods that actually participated in the crazy topics helped to keep it like that. Now it… it just feels industrial.
Amen brotha.
Yeah, well, i never got to experience that with GMC.
