Save Windows XP!

Posted by Omega_Squid on Jan. 15, 2008, 6:20 p.m.

Hey, I just found out about a new petition that already has over 12,000 signatures directly related to keep Microsoft from phasing out sales of XP on June 30.

I know many have moved to Vista, but XP is still better in my opinion, after I used it for a month on one of my Dad's new computers. I don't want to switch platforms anytime soon, and I know that there are a lot of others out there that feel the same way.

Here's the site for more info - http://weblog.infoworld.com/save-xp/

Oh, and this makes two blogs in two days, a new record! (don't expect this to last any longer!)

Edit: It seems that my blog got p'owned off of the front page… I thought I had enough content in here…

Maybe it's because my last blog is still on the front page. Yeah, maybe, but probabily not. >_>

Edit 2: I am going to re-check the box and submit again…

Edit 3: BAM! Got past the filter that time. Needed to get this message across ASAP!

BTW, is Fabio's current delimma:

1. LOL

2. WTF

3. ZOMGOWNED

4. PHAIL

5. ALL OF THE ABOVE?

XD

I have Vista.

I can't wait for programs to actually work!

That's my main reason for not moving - Vista still has a lot of problems with programs =(

I want an Eee PC. (Look it up.)

I know what it is - that $200 linux os comp.

Looks cool, but the only Linux I've tried is the DSL that can fit on a Flashdrive - I can get past my school's firewall with a different OS, hehe

Shut up about Vista. I'd say switch to XP on your new PC and feel really bad about yourself for doing so in a few years.

IMHO, Vista is better than XP, but in the same way GM7 is better than GM6: Barely.

I haven't had a problem with compatibility, and while aero is seriously bloated, I can take it, though some might turn it off.

There is a simple solution: DUAL BOOT!! :D

What, with Vista and XP? Why bother?

Also, Vistas installation folder is 9 Gbs, no joke.

I have Vista. No compatibility problems here, although I can't wait forfuture patches. ^_^

While I am glad you are so passionate about Vista yourself, this is not a new computer anymore (A little over 2 years old now)

My dad had to purchase a new computer for his dental office, and the program he uses to manage appointments and accounting was not compatible for Vista, and so I reinstalled XP over it.

I have no regrets. >_>
