Yes, I know it's wrong.
–Life–Naaah, not much, been 3 fire drills this week, each costing £2000,so we're screwed again. Finally gots Ubuntu installed, FINALLY!Did it through Wubi, it's great, so much more streamlined than M$ Windoze(Yes, I can call it that now).Tomorow, however,I have to go and see a 'collection of songs from musicals',I HATE musicals, can. not. stand them,so I'm not looking forward to it…Any hints on how to survive?–GM-OSITY-Hurry up, J@D! I wants to go 100% linux, and GM is all holding me back! (Don't worry,DF81,I haven't forgotten you,but Josh is the public face of ENIGMA)I've almost finished my Hyper-dynamic water 'zamp, and I'll submit it at some point, but should it be1) The water fills up a hole, and then any further water simply gets deleted, so you don't end up with water-filling gamedeath, or…2)You end up with a better water effect, but water-filling screendeath? It's currently running on my POS at 200fps, which is speedy!–Teh Foxkeh–DF liked this last time, so it's back.I loves Firefox, it is lulz!–Open source 64D–Why not? I think having the source availible to members who have shown themselves worthy, I.E. not me, or a new user, could access the source, and create fixes for the sites crappiness. For example, try adding me as a favorite user, it doen't work, someone could write a fix, leaving the mods and admins with -1 job to do, yeah?As I've said in my newscomments, you would send in your code sections, and the staff would check it over, then implement it, so things would actually be fixed.Alternatively, the bugs are being kept so V3 looks better. In any case, Phazie, (god save my soul), signing off.P.S. Anyone want to MSN chat?phazonyoshi@hotmail.co.uk
Checking over codes would be more a hassle than fixing the problem without a bunch of random submissions
Yeah, I suppose…
We could have PHP mods, like we have game mods, and post mods?(p.s. I'm still playing that Kibosh demo…)High School Poo-sical?
DF is pretty much the main maintainer of v2 code, while I work on v3.
You go, Arc!
Yeah, pretty much, ghg, but without the interesting bits…Ah, help…I mentioned in my last blog about your idea of making 64d opensource. I think it's a good idea. I know there's this issue about it opening back doors or whatever but we all see things we ain't supposed to anyways
AHEM…"DF is pretty much the main maintainer of v2 code, while I work on v3."
^_^And for the last time - hell no at opensourcing 64D - it makes hacking the site 100 times easier, and yields no benefit because the number of people with the necessary skills is miniscule, and we could ask them specifically without opening up the site to risks. And yes Firefly, you could possibly be one of those miniscule people with the proper skills, but seriously, the more people on a project like this, the more complicated it gets because of the exponentially increasing # of network connections between people - there is an actual law about this. The risks far outweight opensourcing the site.An opersource 64digits would be the dumbest idea ever. Geez, this is a GM website, not any of these linux things.
Ok i think we can safely say the opensource thing ain't gonna happen.. Oh well i have my own 64d like site to play with :p
You honestly DON'T want to see 64d's source code.
