Yeah, I don't think even the writers know what his name is. So I'm pretty sure there aren't any clues in the show about his true name.
If there is one thing they will never tell us on the show. It is his name. The entire show's premise is that we don't really know who he is.

LARGames: Actually I saw an interview in the season 7 disk set where one of the writers said he had an idea of what the Doctor's name is, but isn't planning on telling anyone anytime soon.
