Reading your suggestions on TDOT's page I think you should check Godspeed You! Black Emperor(shares members with Mt. Zion) and for rap MF Doom and Prefuse 73.

But you could also say that I got tired of post rock really quickly and thus haven't really given them a fair shot. I don't listen to much post-rock, because most of it sounds the same and I fear I'll become bored. I basically listen to the fathers of the genre (GYBE and Mogwai, then any side projects) or bands that can mix it up.
Unfortunately I was not there, as the video is from 2003 or something, when I was listening to Van Halen.
