When I was a 56ker, Youtube was a luxury (as were most things). Now that I have a broadband internet connection, I've come to see a lot on Youtube as of late.
It can easily become addicting if you don't moderate yourself, or decide to go on open-ended searches, jumping from one video, choosing another from the related selection to the side, and so on (quite similar to my habit of using Wikipedia, where I'm looking up how to calculate gravity in 3D, and an hour later, I'm reading an article listing the works of Issac Asimov).I've come to really enjoy animation shorts. I find there's a lot of soul in them, and others can genuinely make me laugh (Comedy Central begun to run its course with me and has dulled my pallet, so to say). Here are some of my favorites yet so far:Kiwi!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdUUx5FdySsA small, flightless bird pursues its dream of flight.Geraldinehttp://youtube.com/watch?v=vErJFmUF7DMA man awakes, discovering he is now a woman.Cyclehttp://youtube.com/watch?v=xJ9qdObZPLIA father suffers the anxiety of protecting his daughter.Deadlinehttp://youtube.com/watch?v=fbm5HJ9cohYA group of animators discuss why they have yet to hand in a project. My Little Obsessive Compulsive Friendhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=bAtQJxiHKBAA boy tests how obsessive compulsive a pet mouse of his can be.Fallen Arthttp://youtube.com/watch?v=4yQhXBeabUEThe process is shown behind the work of an artist who finds creativity in death.
I suggest you look for "Fallen Art" if you didn't see it already. Out of these, I recognise Kiwi :)
Nice find, Cesque.
I'll update the blog entry for others to see it.I really like the "Cycle" one.
