I thought that this sort of game would appeal to very few but most of the replies I have been getting are really good, which surprised me. I plan to make it pretty big, and with some unconventional touches, such as:No menuNo HUDNo lives or health systemsand some other stuff which is more secret :PI'm sure none of you really care about my little blogs about my little games but I'm going to carry on regardless (which reminds me of a joke in some Terry Pratchett book, or one of the Discworld games or something where there's a bird and Rincewind says it will "Carrion Regardless"):)School holidays for me at the moment, but it's already week 2. Oh well.
in my game vex im trying not to use an HUD at all, and so far I've managed, but no menu…well, why not have a menu?
That sounds very innovative. It could turn out pretty cool. :D
No menu? That's just, well, stupid. I can understand the no-HUD and no-life/health idea, but no menu? Are you just going to have the player jump right into the game?
Yeah. Like I said, it'll be different. Turn for the worse? Perhaps. I'm willing to take the risk.
Anyway, there's no need for options. There's one difficulty level. Hard.
