Today I've been working hard.
Very Hard!I've been working on my project today. But instead of telling you I'll show you (hopefully this will work..):http://64digits.com/users/RetroVortex/Untitled-2.swfNot to bad at the moment eh?Sorry there's no sound, I didn't record it to cut down on filesize.(its still pretty big though..)Don't worry about the ugly background.Thats only a filler….also, There is another enemy type I've made but for some reason it bugged up, so I gotta fix that.Watching the demo, I realised I got a bit of tweaking to do…(I think the blue ants shoot too fast…)I've also forgot to include score and stars.(stars will give you an extra life when you collect 50 of em')But by the time I've finished with the demo, (it will only be 1 level, and probably a boss too..) they will be includedIt pretty much shows what I've done so far. I hope you like it.any suggestions would be nice..(I will also have an option to double the screen size, as it may be hard for people to see..) Dont Worry about the video now it runs fine..I recompiled the video using macromedia flash 8, rather than using the converter..
Laggy as hell, can't find anyway to control it. Weird black, verticle lines. Giant stationary cursor. Fail.
Oh it's a video. I'd just assume the ship would move. Being a video. Still fail.
Oh yeah. After half an hour.
fixed the video, (although the quality has been cut down, there are no more black lines!)
I will probably make a better vid tomorrow. Hopefully I would've made a background by then. (Wouldn't count on it though, as I suck at making large graphics and the background will probably have to be 5000+ pixels in width, or loop very well…)game is kinda slow…
Made lost of improvements today.
Finished the main part of the level..Only need to do a boss now, and a background for the level.(As I've just implemented stars and score, and finished the level)I cranked the speed up to 60 FPS, because it did look a little slow. Thanks for the heads up JID!Next video will be uploaded on youtube..(and it will have sound this time..)Looks interesting…
And the spacecraft looks like one from an old Sega Master System game called 'Fantasy Zone'http://www.acornemus.freeserve.co.uk/mgear/shots/fzonems.gifWell, what do ya know…
It does!I probably had that image in my subconcious while designing it..Doesn't matter too much though. I think mines different enough to get away with it…Also, I'm about 70% finished with the background ofr the first level..But I'm finding it hard to sprite clouds, and i can't get a nice sea effect on the water (because the background of the first level has 3 layers, sky, sea, and ground)Those clouds better be dynamic
