I've done some work on it, and I've come up with the beggining to the story of Pilot. I think it's quite good and sets up the game quite well, but I would like you ideas on how to improve it. Well here it is:
In the year 2056, the earth's governing bodies had gathered together to launch the earth's largest military station into space. Europeans, Asians and Americans worked together in peace and harmony to create this military achievement, and in doing so quelled the wars between themselves. The sucess of the military space station gave way to more stations being launched into space. An advancement in space technology meant that any person could travel through space in speed, and comfort, and eventually the earthlings flew instead of drove. Whole colonies of humans had spawned throughout the galaxy, and alien life was discovered. Life in space eventually became like that of earth, and peace was the way of life. 63 years after earth's greatest sucess, a new species of alien has been discovered, with talents and intelligence like our own, however, through an unexplained murder, the universe will see a war like no other…And this is where you come in. You will control the fate of a young man with dreams of becoming a hero, and if you survive, determine the fate of the universe itself…Well.. did you like it? I hope its not too cliched…
Future? Check.
Space stuff? Check.Aliens? Check.Yea, it's pretty cliched. Not a bad plot. You need to clarify who's been murdered though. A human or alien.
You don't have to clarify who has been murdered, it's fine the way it is.
Well… Space is a good setting (because its big!!), and the future is probably the best way of explaining why ships are flying around,(could you imagine cavemen abducting cows in flying saucers…) and don't you think it would be just a little bit boring without aliens.
Do you think Star wars would've been succesful without aliens..no I don't think so. So to review, cliche?, yes, necessary?, also yes.I think going to make scrolling text with artwork behind it… (or animations, I don't know yet what is easier yet…)Oh, and thanks to those who like it so far.. It means I can focus on expanding various storylines leading from this (my game has certain choices/actions which affect the missions/story…)Sounds cliched, but cliched has never been bad if you add some epic music and epic scenes, where I (the player) kick some ass and live my heroic dream. :D
