Yeah, well; There just happens to be another guy at my school named Rhys, and he is in year 7 or 8 (i'm in year 10, going into 11). Unfortunately, he's a major, MAJOR emo.
Now, before I start, he DIDNT kill himself. In fact, he just stood on a cliff at school and threatened to kill himself. He badly slit his wrists and was taken to hospital. His girlfriend dumped him that day, so I guess he found it his opportunity for a major session of attention seeking. Don't get me wrong, i'm not putting this guy down. I understand he's probably feeling crap. Fact is, everyone has their girlfriend dump them at some point (even girls, in this modern world), and everyone deals with it. However, they'll rarely give out a public stunt, advertising and everything, about them going to kill themselves. As a generalisation, emo's rarely kill themself; people assume they do because it's always Emo's threatening to. The people who usually kill themselves are actually clinically depressed, not attention seeking because they think that girls like emotive guys. Those people also kill themselves as quietly as possible, so as not to cause too much trouble for everyone else. So, this guy, I wish I could speak to him (he's in hospital at the moment). You know, talk sense into him. He apparently had people threatening to kill him and torture him (guys out of school), and I guess i'm sick of people hating emo's. I agree, emo's are doing the wrong thing by making a big show about their small problems. But it ain't going to help teasing them about it. But, those people just need to realise that if they don't be themselves, people will realise they're wearing a mask and pick it up, and it isn't going to help trying to fit in. If you're unique, make it known; because people'll love people if you're yourself, not if you wear long black hair and a scarf and slit your wrists for a hobby. My opinion; open to others.-Rhys
You should be
Ya they just like attention. most suicides are quiet and not public. and who cares if you have a cliff at ur school, i have a mountain(almost fell off that once =O) and a forest.
Rob's right… Emo's just like attention. But I don't think we should be making fun of them, because that's attention for one (thus, they'll be even more emo), and it's not helping them to realise they're doing the wrong thing.
-RhysI agree.
