RA - New Dream Theater Album

The other day, I got some more news about the upcoming Dream Theater album! Its called "Systematic Chaos" and will be available June the 7th. It includes a 25 minute 'epic', probably similar to the 25 minute epic "Octavarium" on their last album. I am truly excited. They've also signed with Roadrunner Records - most people seem to hate RR, but so long as Dream Theater doesn't change I'm happy. Along with this, is Within Temptations' new album "The Heart of Everything", which should be good. Also, the new Symphony X Album "Paradise Lost", which I don't know when it will be available.

I've also released the next demo of Conflict: Online, version 0.62. It fixes a few bugs (like the problem where you don't die if you're the warrior), as well as a new 'knife' weapon (not too good, it's way hard to be able to sneak up on someone and cut them up without getting your head blown off), a new gameplay type (Bully - a random victim is chosen, and he gets a point for every kill he makes… whoever kills him also gets a point), and the ability to spectate AI players instead of playing. Unless there is some amazingly critical error in CO 0.62, I won't be updating CO until we have an online demo available. That's in the hands of Arcalyth for now, I am going to spend some months finishing off other projects, and then get back to CO and get something ready.

We setup my father's 20-year-old stereo up to my TV/Xbox the other day… amazing quality. My computer has a 24-bit sound-card and Logitech Z-640 Speakers, and the sound it projects is hardly close to the quality of the stereo we have hooked up to our TV. The speakers are wooden, and go up to my shoulders - and then the big chunky record/tape/radio-unit slides under my TV… so I can play old records on it, as well as tapes (two at once for some reason, how cool), an FM/AM Tuner, or my TV or Xbox - The panning quality is brilliant, and even though the sound is a perfect level of bass, it doesn't wake up my parents. Looks wonderful.

Sweet! I just picked up another 4 DT albums on Friday - I have 6 of them now. Actually I've been listening to DT all day. My fave album, I think, is Train of Thought - I like their heavier stuff. Then again Metropolis pt 1 is one of the best songs evah.

Roadrunner Records isn't bad, I like quite a few of their bands.

Also their 40-something minute epic on Six Degrees was even more epic :P Same with Metropolis Pt 2, not sure if that's counted as one song though

Metropolis Pt 2 is considered a Concept Album - lots of different songs, but they're linked by a single concept.

Yeah, 6DoIT was very epic :P - On their 20th Anniversary DVD they play the whole song with an orchestra, wonderful stuff.

With a little bit of wire snipping, splicing and welding you can hook some stereo speakerss up to the PC.

The sound quality is great (especially when it's turned up loud), much better than PC Speakers.
