That's right. The cover for the new Dream Theater album, Systematic Chaos. Some say it doesn't make any sense whatsoever but I think it makes perfect sense. Watch Ants, they all race around chaotically - yet they're very 'systematic', they have a huge tunnel system and way of life thats very sophisticated. And look at highways, they're also very chaotic and very systematic. Though, it could mean a number of other things too - for instance, Ants have a system that's very sophisticated that they can understand, and we're making so many systems we're tripping over our own feet - the highways a depiction of this (which highway goes where?)… and so we're becoming weaker than the common ant! Or the album is about killer ants the size of cars destroying our highway system, I dunno. So yeah, I'm excited about the album - plus a new Symphony X Album, new Bon Jovi album, new Within Temptation album, new Porcupine Tree album, etc etc etc. Though in other news, I've decided that even though I'm heck-busy with school / college / work (2 freaking jobs) / jamming sessions / web-design business, I need to get a move on with Conflict: Online - and so I've started putting all the concepts of the online part together, and am writing a large development guide (that is open source for other members to edit) so that we can write the game sophisticatedly.S'lata-Rhys
Um yea, I don't think you used the right term there.
Okay, whatever. Point is, the album art is cool.
It is a nice album cover.
The two ants in the bottom left corner look as though they're having a nice little chat.@Doormat: I see it too, in fact they might be saying this:
ant1: Hello there old chap, nice weather we're having!ant2: Indeed, have you tried the port?ant1: Why yes, marvellous isn't it?ant2: Yes, it is. translated for n00bs:ant1: Hi u haxx0r, sun is hot!ant2: Lolz@sun, u drink lot?ant1; Lol yea, great innit?ant2: yea!(sorry for the bad translation, I don't speak very good n00b!)@RhysAndrews: The album cover is pretty cool, but I've never heard of the band…Have you seen the album art for the Special Edition yet? Way cooler than the regular edition in my opinion
Also, Retro, the band isn't that well known the the mainstream crowd, but almost everyone who listens to some oddball variety of metal or any kind of prog at all know of them. I recommend their album Awake, personally. If you don't like the old-school sound on that album you ought to check out one of the ones Rhys mentioned earlier.Oh, I forgot to mention, that's not the official cover art. The official one is exactly the same except "systematic chaos" is in red and a little lower. I think a different font as well.
I think it's one of their best covers, except for the sticking of the text in a big black box instead of embossed onto the side of the bridges. That kind of sucks.
